The Sickxty's FIRST Off Road Trip! Volkswagens - Wagens Through Oklawaha, FLoida.

Today's video, we take the sickxty off road for the first time. We built this volksrod / baja Volkswagen Beetle over the last 3 years and its been on the road for the last 4 months.
Wagens through the Oklawaha is an event put on my The Dune Buggy Brothers out of north Florida.
The area we are in is north Ocala in a small city of Ft McCoy Florida. We were off road for 46 miles through very narrow, sandy trails.
I know this video isn't the most exciting hover my son and I had a great time and this is for us to look back on down the road.

We had a great time. I took it easy on the first half so I could check the car over at lunch time. I’m sure I was being paranoid but I did have to drive it home 2 hours, pulling a trailer lol He is growing up so fast, hard to believe he’s 15 and driving already. I let him drive the bug in the campground that weekend and he only stalled it once.

I know it wasn’t very entertaining. However, I wanted something for Levi and I to look back on down the road. We had a great time and we tested out the build and put her to the test. 90 miles each way towing a trailer also.

Hey Gary ! merry Xmas . We took Rambus to town yesterday to eat at the golden corral . I saw about 3 beetles and 2 busses . The round trip was about 35 miles and Rambus ran perfect , never even missed . Good luck to You and Levi and your Wife .

Loved watching your offroad adventures and seeing you enjoying it with your son! We have a few of those super-thin sandy trails here locally - makes me nervous coming around a curve or over a hill (expecting to run into somebody on a SxS or atv). Great video and LOVE that you can pull a trailer!

Luckily I didn’t have to worry about head on stuff since I was mid pack but I did need to worry about coming around a corner and then being stopped. Definitely had a blast and I’m so fortunate that my son loves to be involved. Check out my latest build, talk about pulling a trailer! 😎

Man this brings back memories. We went to Ocala national forest a few times back in the 90s. Are you going to do that off - road race up there. Its like the baja 500. Cant think of the name of the race. I cant tell you how many jeeps, trucks and ford pick up trucks the bug pulled out. Merry Christmaa to you and the family.

Could you tell us how bad the raptor liner holds dirt and mud? I was thinking about doing mine like that but I’m not sure cause I don’t want it to be a pain to clean it. Thanks

All depends on how textured the liner is. On mine, it hood the sort kinda well. If you sprayed it finer or rolled it on it wouldn’t be as much of an issue.
