I am a 71 year old woman who has always wanted to drive a truck, but due to seizures, I could not even drive a car. The closest I will ever get to "driving" is using the American Truck Simulator game and driving either a Pete or a Kenworth.

I absolutely love watching this. Generational trucking at its best. I am 52 and have been out here for 31 years. It was once a enjoyable job. But the those days our behind us now. All I do these days, is counting down the days to retirement.

Great video really appreciate the videos. I used to load with a lot of ERM guys at Sunoco twin oaks in Aston when they were still hauling fuel always good guys and clean trucks they’re right up the street from shady maple used to drive by their yard every time I ate there just to look at the trucks. Thanks again for the great info and content.

My old town❤I did some work at the truck stop and met Earl sr a very down to earth man and nice to work for I stop there recently and not anything like it was. The trucks are always clean and shiny. Seems like a great bunch of guys when I was young and work on a farm in New Holland we used a J D a

Awesome video! I lost my dad in 2019. We trucked together for 32 years. It is great to see these family companies continuing to the next generation. I have to admit the log book clip brought tears to my eyes. We signed up for the free trial with Bulkloads about a week ago. We haven't run end dumps since 2005 and wanted to see what is going on in the bulk industry these days. Great video!

The only trailer I ever pulled with a lift axle was back in the early 1970's. It was a 40 foot flatbed with a lift axle located just back from center and a sliding tandem behind that.

Outstanding video. I've seen those trucks and loaded and unloaded at many of the same places they have for years. I use to know Ken Koser well, seeing him at Omega Protien in Reedville Va and Venture Milling in Seaford Delaware all the time. Glad to see he's doin well.

The reason you generally see the wrong axles lifted is the same reason there's so many basic trailers out there. Not enough people think for themselves, they count solely on the dealer for their decisions. 95% of the dealers only have experience with "I want one like my buddy has" type of people (in my field, I can only think of one dealer in the country that warrants allowing any input on trailer configuration). That is fine to fill numbers for run of the mill trailers but will never result in any innovation. I'm not in their field but I'd lift the rear axle on any trailer even if it didn't ride better. Why in the world would anyone want to make it more difficult to corner when empty than loaded! Nice to see other companies out there doing things for a reason. Good job ERM!

With as much money as these guys obviously have it just blows my mind that they would have crank tarps. Electric tarps are to the only way to go. Crazy

Electric tarps cost more money, weigh more, and can be a pain if they aren’t working. Manual tarps work every time

@@kylekbelt Electric tarps are not that expensive. Nor heavy you wouldn’t even know the difference. And they always work if properly maintained. These guys sold a couple big pieces of their business (Truck Stop and Petroleum division) obviously they have the money for Electric tarps. The only people who don’t like electric tarps are those who don’t have to deal with a crank tarp. And those who have poor maintenance. With electric tarps your tarp last longer. The driver and truck stays cleaner and if you load light stuff and have it mounded up the tarp will climb it.
