@@jupitertrucking99 Hi it was meant as a compliment. You have an incredible ability to think outside the box in order to get loads delivered. Many decades ago I drove doubles for UPS. My only challenge was hooking up a set of double in the snow. I only drove terminal to terminal. Having driven a tractor trailer I can really appreciate your " "problem solving skills" to get the job done. Best wishes for continued success
@jupitertrucking992 күн бұрын
Well, thank you sir, that is a very high compliment. I think the problem solving skills for delivering a load are pretty common for flatbed, all of my friends do the same thing I do, but it can definitely be challenging. Trying to turn it into a video story is the real tough part though haha. Thanks again and thanks for watching!

Thanks Jupiter. I always try to talk to the drivers who come into our mill with equipment. Lots of interesting stories. Some of this stuff is so odd shaped that there just isn't a good way to handle it. I've unloaded with 2 fork trucks and booms and overhead house cranes and all sorts of other methods. Those guys unloading the roof trusses that had you pull out from under were lazy, they should have re-rigged that for better center of gravity. Would have taken 1 minute, rather than banging the whole load around. Drive safe and keep up the great work.
@jupitertrucking99Күн бұрын
You're right about things being real odd shaped sometimes and different ways to do it. You learn to be creative with the equipment you have. As far as the two guys being lazy, it's hard to get worked up about things like that. It's their stuff, I just let them do it their way unless they ask for my opinion or it's going to hurt my equipment. Thanks for watching! I appreciate you commenting

Great idea for a channel! Years ago I was sent to load an EX 400 excavator at a remote job site. Was told there “should” be an operator there. Yea right! Had a straight lowboy so it had to have a dock or load it up the side. Shouldn’t be an issue as I had “watched” an operator side load before. Problem was, it only had one track on it! Eventually I got it up there plus the broken track.

That's sort of the reverse of what shifted me out of former main career and into a full time dedicated gearing and steering position. I'd had the license since the day after I was old enough to challenge the road test.... I'd spent more than twice the hours I spent in school for my K-12 in the garage and laydown yard or on the family business government tendered infrastructure contract projects that were awarded to our bids.... the examiner was a little surprised that I wasn't in the typical tandem daycab and 40' deck setup that a few schools that were around designated as the road test rig.... I arrived with my uncle in a heavy spec flat top T8 Tri drive with a 52" bunk and 50T winch. At this point there was no longer a trailer visible as we came around the side of the building. That's when my uncle popped around in his 1Ton that he unloaded off the RGN while I was inside.... looked out the window at the guy ( who i later found out was a long time friend of his ) and said hurry up, he's got a 345 that's 4hrs south to go and get back to the shack, then left. The guy sees the detached 10'wide 24 wheeler the truck just came off of at this point.... first and only time this is ever going to happen he says.... tell you what, get 'er back together then do a lap around the building, backwards and blindside without a forward gear and if you pass the inspection half of things after that, you get upgraded and save an hour.... you'll be able to make it back before he does if you pull it off.... he had apparently watched me running around with that setup a few times in last couple of years...... Anyway I wound up getting into the open pit mines on equipment and never drove as a full time driver at any point for 15 years or more..... but at a project demobe I wound up having to go over the side to load a 1 shoed 490 komatsu for the driver who showed up to do the move and had never sat in any equipment other than a skidsteer a couple of times...... landed it on the deck and out of 20 year old muscle memory was throwing chains from the well before the driver was even on the deck..... I said to him, man I sure miss this, and he told me that they were hiring and the only reason he was there is they are way short on drivers and the other guys were green, but he hated the float work and was the original sole driver when he had been hired by his boss for a enddump back when it started up..... I wound up getting headhunted by the boss before we ever touched base and he made an offer as soon as we met..... checked the yard out and mulled over it for a few days, and decided to make the switch..... best move ever

Plus some of the roads l went on you didn't have any business on it with a semi so i can feel your pain .Im retired now and don't have to deal with it but i would not haved missed doing it for the world .Insulation was a lot harder job than hauling gas and auto parts but it made me a better driver thats for sure
