The viewers addicted to TVs is a brilliant depiction to our current society that is addicted to screens. Back in the 90s, I would never have believed society would be wandering around with a little screens in their pockets and the image of a society all glued their phone screens would have been straight out of a science fiction movie.

Great analysis! However, one thing I disagree with in this video is over the Pale City resembling a mid-20th Century urban city of Japan. Instead, I believe that the Pale City takes place in a warped version of 1950s United States, given the location's architecture, building, advertisements, furniture, and fashion. Furthermore, given Little Nightmares II's theme is based on escapism, the old-timey depiction of the Pale City, I like to believe this is more representative of the rise of consumerism present in a post-war America thanks to the boom in the economy. This is plenty obvious in the Viewers' fashion sense, with many females wearing typical kitchen aprons and gloves and males wearing white-collar suits and ties, resembling the roles of females and males in 1950s America, as well as somewhat reminiscent of stereotypical nuclear families of the era. Additionally, televisions became incredibly common in American households by the 1950s, similar to many TV sets in the Pale City. This is why I believe the Pale City doesn't look like post-war 20th Century Japan.

maybe its meant to be a "chinatown" sort of area. a mishmash of stuff that feels "exotic" to american viewers. I personally remember more of those sorts of areas featuring in movies and shows set in the city than i can remember other, more american style places. I'm sure that chinatown type areas were relatively rare, but the point is you remember them more. again, a warped perception of reality. another possibility is that its a "san fransokyo" kind of idea. multiple styles fusing together to make a sort of "everycity, nowhere".

I have a theory that it was the 60s that things diverged from the normal timeline. Something happened in that time period, something that twisted adults into monsters and left the kids without protection, to be consumed by the adults or become twisted adults themselves once they grow up. Judging from the state of the world, things have been this way for a while.

Tericho!!! I just found out the scene from the bloody nose girl comic is in the game! The room she tunnels into with the tallies. Right before you go through the hallway where all the mannequin hands pop out of both sides, if you go the opposite way there's a sneaky hole in the gate that leads to a door that goes into that room!

the ending was pretty clear cut, unlike most Ln things, and the hidden ending even shows how ln1 is connected and stuff. there's nothing more to see I really hope we follow some other kid and get to see more of how the Ln world works

My theory is that the eye is an alien entity who came to earth thousand of years ago,started the maw, when the food source started decreasing,captured the pale city, made a thinman of their own, made a signal tower, then created a loop replacing the old thinman with new (mono), this might also explain why, in the concept art, there seems to be a thinman that isnt mono, the same story goes with six, then trapping both mono and six in a loop of mono becoming the thinman and six becoming the lady, then theres no need for new food source for the eye which is because the loop ot created provides the eye with infinite food source(souls of viewers and the guests). Hope you like my theory :)

This game is a prequel, at the end of the game you can acquire the secret ending by collecting all the glitched souls throughout the game, Six sees a poster of the Maw. This means she only knew of the Maw through a poster and wished to board it to escape the Pale City and its dangerous environment, and if LN1 came first before LN2 it wouldn't make sense because at the end of the previous game Six gained The Lady's powers, and can assume she becomes the new Lady.

I have a theory on how the Tower came to be. Well, maybe more of a fanfic scenario, but I still think it makes A LOT of sense. Gotta warn you though. If you saw or read a book called "Bernard's watch", you're bound to have your childhood ruined: -The Tower is clearly an alien being. It probably doesn't even belong to that dimension. The point is, if we take into consideration the concept art, it seems it's not complete yet. It's not a full living being yet. It was a non-physical entity. First, it needed to gain flesh and blood. Then, it could get to work and get a soul. In order to accomplish this, it created a sort of... business, if you will. Using its power to distort time and mediocre momentary tangebility, it created a bunch of stopwatches with the power to freeze time, and started giving them to children across the world. Now, this is the important part. The book reveals to us that each time the watch is used, the user loses a bit of the iron in their blood, so time can not remain frozen for long, unless you wish to be completely drained. But, why children ? Adults possess a wider crowd of victims to fall for this scam, given their daily stress. That's when you remember mostly well behaved children are immune to the Tower's signal. I think the Tower was trying to both get iron and eliminate the ones it knew that couldn't be corrupted by it. The whole "Don't use the watch for bad actions." was simply to test those children and see if they truly couldn't be used for later. Given the fact Bernard gives up the watch later and that there are children still children in the world of "Little Nightmares", we can assume the Tower was only partially successful. If this means it can still be defeated, that remains to be seen.

Only children are pure enough to not be corrupted by the Tower, as their fantasies and nightmares weren't twisted by society yet. But, technically speaking, it is theorized the Doctor was somewhat resisting the broadcast and trying to cure it.

I mean in the viewers chase scene, we see other TVs surrounding the one that Mono turns on, and they’re off. Also can the Signal be hijacked? So we all know how mono means one? Monophobia means fear of being alone. Maybe the reason six dropped mono is because she has a fear of being with someone. At the maw she's alone but she's not really afraid because she could have rescued the kids in the crates, yknow when the janitor kidnaps you. Yes six does save mono at the jumps in the school but its only because she's desperately wanting to save him. She can't since she knows what will happen with her and the new mono. She knows it's a loop and it doesn't matter what she does. Mono is destined to turn into thin man. Also mono saves six at those jumps too. He knows its a loop and he doesn't like being alone. So why not just keep them close with you until you die? He does cause he knows it doesn't matter what happens he will turn into thin man. It's either he doesn't make the jump or six drops him.

I have a theory that is really down the rabbit hole but what if the entire world of little nightmares is just a memory from a child just twisted if you really think about maybe this child had friends who he/she saw there friends grew up not really the same that’s maybe why it’s only the adults are the monster maybe six grew to be a geisha that owned a restaurant /the lady from the maw or maybe he/she saw mono grow up alone and old always working.or the runaway kid died in a lake that’s why we see that vision of him drowning same with all the kids we see .Also the fear the fear of a teacher to an adult there a person who teaches you to kid it’s a demon that points everything you do same with the doctor and huntsman, chefs, the Guest seeing greedy hungry people scared this child and everyone else.maybe this child also grew up had only the television to keep him entertained for his/her life growing sad and alone this would make sense if you think of the title Little nightmare .

Really late on this but of course everyone latches on to the faceless NPCs being corrupted by a prevalent force but nobody wants to discuss what the metaphor could be for Mono being the source or agent of the same force. He is the player character after all, the one whom players are supposed to identify with. What could his relationship to the Thin Man and the Signal and his power over them be representing? What could be players be meant to learn from that? Is Mono a metaphor for a content creator?

Why would the Signal be the cause-origin and not a symptom, or better even a by-product of the Tower ? Like the Hunger would be for the Maw ? The Tower and the Maw are gigantic, tall beyond reason compared to the rest of the world : The Maw seen in its entirety in one design prep is too tall and too big related and compared to everything in it. So is the Tower, looming miles over the tallest buildings in the City. It's the only entity reaching for the sky, too tall compared to the rest of the city to be a building built organicalmy into. So is the Maw, reaching for the depths of the ocean during an era where deep sea diving and exploration would still be a long way from the humans reach. How about these two tall-beyond-sanity and deep-beyond-mind's-reach things are entities and not simply logos and narrative devices ? Not too dissimilar from Eldritch Gods, but with the Tarsier zest added to the design ?

@@Raj19365 yes we have, spoilers, but in th end of the first games dlc runaway kid gets nomed by the geisha, picks up a sausage, and then 6 appears and he offers it to her, then cut to black. But its the same room, the same sausage nome that 6 kills and eats in the main game. Shadow 6 is almost always off camera, appearing when you eat, you need to actually look for her. And the devs most likely meant they'll see us again, not the runaway kid, unless he comes back from the dead. But he definitely got ate by 6.

We know Mono and the Thin Man have the power of the signal suggesting that the Thin Man would have the ability to travel throughout the multiverse.
