Hatfield's and McCoy's brought me here, however, The Silent Comedy made me fall in love with this song. I'm on my 15th time replaying it.

The choice of this song to promote Dark Souls was very appropriate. The narrative of the song echoes not only the themes of the games , but how you often feel during the course of playing it.

as a Southerner this song gives my goosebumps. It has rock, country, folk, and a good dose of southern baptist revival music thrown into one. Great song.

I loved the ending of the show with the subtexts. It was priceless when it said that by fighting so hard to separate their families, they were forever joined in american culture..to the point where one cannot speak one name without the other. Priceless.

The song is one of those amazing songs where the band managed to convey the struggle for survival. It evokes severl emotions. Love it. It fits the show because the fued was all about emotionally charged exchanges between two families struggling for survival.

ok this is essentialy a response to someone who asked/suggested that this might be biblical? well i didnt write the song but it seems to me that the whole song is about a sinner, possibly a fallen angel who has come to god repenting, begging forgiveness and re-entry to heaven. during the song he basically recounts some of his evils and manipulations he has perpetrated on mankind. again he is asking forgiveness but if he doesnt get it he is going to go on being a devil.......love it.

@blanebraker Silent comedy refers to a style of acting, related to but distinct from mime, invented to bring comedy into the medium of film in the silent film era (1900s-1920s) before a (synchronized) sound track on film was technologically practicable. Silent comedy is still practiced, albeit much less frequently, but it has influenced comedy in modern media as well. From Wiki

I can't tell if you're joking or not but, no it's Harlequin. Harley Quin (Dr. Harleen Francis Quinzel) is a fictional character from Batman. Harlequin is a mute character in traditional pantomime, typically masked and dressed in a diamond-patterned costume.

Actually, what's interesting is that most religions offer a life of works as salvation. Like if you do this, you will be saved. Christianity is unique in that it says that you can't earn your salvation so let God do it for you.
