No. That's complete BS. there are only 2 staff from Bones that worked on OPM. In fact, OPM had more actual in-house madhouse staff than Mob 100 had in-house Bones staff.

+Vetro One Punch Man is huge in Japan, it's first and 2nd manga volumes have each sold over a million copies and overall averages 700-800k per volume, the anime sold 11k which is pretty great in terms of sales. OPM was also listed as 24 in top selling media franchises in Japan (FYI the anime sales were not counted in this and it beat detective conan, just to show some perspective). It is definitely equal if not more popular in japan. Also the original web manga also gets millions of hits. BTW not that big of a fan OPM, Just wanted to let you know.

I'd have to say Madhouse is easily my favorite animation studio. When most think of the greatest anime of all time, Madhouse is undeniably prominent. This video was very intriguing and definitely well researched like your other videos. I'd love to see you make a similar video about studio Ufotable. I think they're an interesting company and despite not having nearly the same level of history compared to Madhouse, I believe that you'll be able to bring to our attention interesting facts about the company worth discussing.

Well, the thing that made Madhouse unique was that they were full of passion and always had unique ways of direction and writing, they saw making anime as art and something to be enjoyed. Whereas MAPPA just overworks the staff, has a single director who basically directs every single one of their anime and accepts every job offer by sponsors; basically seeing anime as a job and not as art and passion. I think the difference between the two is quite noticable, especially if you look at what they adapt into anime.

I knew there was something different with the studio, it just felt different. So thank you for informing me about the situation. However I do not think that Madhouse can ever be "RESTORED" but rather "REBORN" to something great! "Restoration" would mean that the studio would be have the same members as in the past at the same quality. Although I would be happy as a fan, that is unlikely to happen. Instead I would think of it as a "rebirth," as chance to become new, fresh, and a chance to give some of the underdog animators/directors the limelight. I agree that the current Madhouse, as a production studio, is a "shadow of its former self," but with their new staff I believe that they can take the name one step further. They are currently in their "baby" phase learning how to walk again and they have big shoes to fill, due to their past history. But that idea pushes the new team to make something better, to make something different, something original, something AMAZING! Although its their experimenting phase, so there will be a lot of hit or misses. I believe that not only will they be able to restore their former name, they will be able to push beyond that and take the standard higher! And if I'm wrong... well then... Bite me right in the Ass!

He did a great job with bringing Nasu's writing to live Kara no Kyoukai 5, if they only hired a better scriptwriter for the GE anime.... Tho his worst work is Gyo, it was creepy and disturbing thanks to him but the flow of the story and the character interactions were just horrible.

+LMG Blurr I'm with you on this one, those two studios seem to have the most consistently good quality anime that can be good for my tastes. Any other studio is a much bigger hit or miss for me. Maybe Mappa will join them too after a few more seasons. Also although usually out of my tastes, i can also consider as such Kyoto Animation one such consistently good animation studio, they can please their fans on most of their creations.

+mr skeletal Really? they fucked up Full Metal Alchemist, Soul Eater and Darker than Black?
@simonealcazar816
@simonealcazar816 8 жыл бұрын
+blinKX10 First of all, Bones redid FMA, but also even if the first FMA had a filler end. It was at let's good( well in my opinion) Same for Soul Eater, I also read both the manga so don't think I'm some anime only. As for Darker Than Black, it had a decent run( sadly I haven't gotten to the manga), but there's one other thing, THEY END IT. So the anime didn't end the manga way. At least its not some messed up cliffhanger at the end and have to what 2-3 Years for a bloody sequel( in which 75% on anime's never do) and that includes Madhouse. For bones they take what they can get from what they have made AT LEAST an end that satisfy the watcher. Also what about the other anime they didn't "fuck up"

LMG Blurr Come on guys, this guy (mr skeletal) obviously has no idea what a bad adaptation means or he's just another "the original is better" elitist who just tries to show off how he has read the original material or something.

+Ten_Tails_Jack I can understand OLM not wanting to do more Berserk because of their reputation as a kids show producer, but I think moving it to White Fox would make more sense since they came from OLM and have worked on projects together before. I don't think Madhouse and OLM have ever collaborated on a project.

AMAZING video considering the amount of research you had to do for this. I'd love to see you do a quick deconstruct of anime tropes, like where they started, where they peaked in popularity / usage, and (if necessary) what it means in terms of Japanese culture or anime culture (example: running w/ toast in your mouth while you're late for school.... or the ever-present nosebleeds when seeing a hot person or sexy scene).

Going through the list of anime they've done, and I really didn't know they had done so many good shows. But while they may not be as good as they used to be, they did several good shows last year, so hopefully that's a sign of things to come from them.
