Tackling Tolkien as a second video maybe isn't the smartest choice but I couldn't resist. The Silmarillion may not always be the smoothest read but its high moments are truly incredible! I have some issues with this that I feel I have already picked up on and learnt from, hopefully future Tolkien excerpts, or similar pieces, will give me the chance to fix my perceived issues! This is what we have ALWAYS wanted not Rings of Power.... people talk about the mountains of middle Earth...but they don't mentioned why the valleys were created....it was from the weight of the massive stones Fingolfin had to drag to Angband to challenge a literal God to a one on one.

As amazing and perfectly heroic this act is, you just have to wonder how different would things have been if Fingolfin hadnt gone and commited suicide by Vala. Perhaps his authority and status wouldve been enough to discourage the sons of Feanor from commiting the 2nd and 3rd kinslayings, or perhaps he couldve mustered a more united noldorin society after the dagor bragollach, preventing the utter slaughter of the elves and men in the following years.
