That last segment def hits hard. I've been noticing recently how the less happy you are with your current life, the easier it is to retreat into nostalgia; especially as you age and the amount of future you have starts to recede. Nostalgia can be a wonderful comfort, but you can't let it keep you from making new memories to look back on with fondness. Great vid!

absolutely stellar video as per usual! fully enjoyed and agreed with your perspective and analysis on the game. can’t wait for the FSR video, people have sung its monotonous geniuses for years so i’m curious to see if you have any interesting ideas on that one (most likely). also one little fun fact i like to share that i notice not many people pick up on or mention, is that the endcard titles for every chapter in tsc are new order/joy division songs, and in 25th ward they’re all different songs chosen to thematically tie in with their respective chapters. i just find it really cool how suda’s pop culture influence dates back even to his first game. one of gaming’s most important figures in my opinion and i’m glad more people are getting his name out there on platforms like this, again great video.

really solid video, just beat the game and was looking up vids of discussion and it and loved your explanations of it. my experience with the game was initially slightly dampered because i named the protag "applebees" thinking it was just the savefile name and you would not believe the sheer horror on my face when naka kept saying applebees. edited the savefile myself though later so my immersion was restored but its a funny story nonetheless. but yeah good vid

Sweet as turkish delight. I "finished" the game today and I was looking for some deeper vision since the connections between subplots are sometimes a tiny bit blurry. It's my 3d Suda game after Killer7 and No More Heroes, it's amazing how it sticks to the soul, that awkward dark atmosphere, characters lost in the whirlpool, a constantly growing tension, helped by the crazy soundtrack (big up for Tokio's room with tempo changes according to time and mood). So thank you. Waw so much swearing 😳

finished this game today, it was so??? AWESOME i really loved the kamuidrome chapter overall, it really screamed "VIBES" from every single angle also, since i played fsr first (just like they were meant to be played by "western suda", i guess?) i really liked how it's all tying the loose ends and explaining some of the characters like sumio and tokio (and my dumbass thought sumio was the protagonist and not a separate character so i named the profile sumio 💀 i need to thank kusabi for calling akira big dick, especially when sumio kodai was with akira and kusabi) OH RIGHT and your videos were both so cool, really enjoyed your narration, your vibes, your editing, everything! :3

Well anyway, while I do appreacite that you aren't presenting yourself as all knowing expert in these videos(it can be obnoxious especially when youtuber gets info wrong, plus it can come across as overly confident or pretentious accidentally), but I do kinda like it when video essayist do background research and present that research so I don't mind you doing it this time either xD But yeah Silver Case is game I really want to play, but I have hard time getting through the ui and presentation :'D I don't know if its my ADD or something, but game feels really intimidating to me, even the box art feels intimidating in kind of esoteric way to me. I'm sure I manage to work through it eventually, but until then my play time is stuck at exactly 60 minutes...

Just dropped the silvercase. I found the amount of exposition and use of phrases repeated in all caps annoying, the prose was eyerolling, and when they had a intro scene for characters ive been around for two hours already i gave up. Glad you liked it when i couldnt though.

In kusabi, I think it's just fitted with his character and periods he came from ( Flower sun and rain spoiler, maybe ? ) I still do have a sort of theory / headcanon that kusabi is a potentially closet gay the way he tallk to sumio in Silvercase and his whole disguise during losspass Islands

It is not a text-to-speech in Killer7 (and surely the others). It was made using ring modulation over the vocals ! I was testing a bitcrusher pedal with a microphone one day and accidentally pulled the same effect !
