Ian the man! Hats off for making PDVS2mini a reality :-) I'm still happy with my prototype unit and use it from time to time in the lab during repairs, since it's small and convinient unlike big boy Fluke calibrators. Looking forward for PDVS-3 improved version :-D

Also an open-source version would never work because end users do not have national lab traceable, in-calibration 8 digit multimeters available which is the main value proposition here. LM399 is super stable, but each individual device varies widely in output voltage and this changes over time, especially at first. So being able to buy an already burned-in, calibrated device is incredibly useful.

I see a 10+ year old capacitor, I replace it. Same for carbon composite resistors, RIFA caps and paffner mains filters.
