Yep, DJs do virtually the same thing during their sets, using the mixer's EQ, isolator, high-pass filter, low-pass filter, delay, reverb, and external effects pedals. It's all for the same reasons you lay out in your Ableton video here. Very cool techniques! Good idea to use an external midi controller for knobs instead of the keyboard & mouse, it makes the creative process much more fluid and fun, like DJing.

Do you usually just stick to simple HPF or LPF or Do you also automate other synth parameters or delay reverb, feedback %, etc with knobs to create tension, or what other parameters do you recommend mapping to knobs and playing with?
