Luke, that looks more like a true exterior detail that I would do, especially since I utilize more than just one featured product. I believe the video really hit home with a lot of folks as the could relate to exterior washes, although they may not be maintenance. In my area, there is such a diverse range of prices, but you can usually weed out the hacks quickly. I think most people tend to cut-throat their exterior package, while bundling it along with their interior package, which leaves you in the boat to have to 'sell' the idea of a maintenance wash. No worries if you leave them happy! Thanks again for another top video entry!!!

Hey there, I am loving your content. Please keep the vids coming. My question is, are you running your detailing business from your house? If so, I'd assume that fact can certainly keep your pricing low compared to a Detail Shop that resides in an Industrial Complex that has to have high overhead to manage. I'm just wondering if we're comparing apples to apples when you're talking about money. I can't operate a Detail Business from my home garage where I live due to local bylaws and zoning. Thanks again for your content Luke.
@Mastemine4984 жыл бұрын
Can you do a comparison video between a car that has used your service, vs them using a car wash? I feel like detailers in my area struggle because there are multiple car washes in our area that offer monthly wash services, most are around $30-40 a month for unlimited washes, and that includes things like bug spray, clear coat, siminoz hot wax, and more. I feel like to a normal human perception, that those car washes suffice enough to be clean. Of course as a detailer you will notice a difference, but I feel as though the average person, or client that is visiting an office would not be able to tell the difference between a car that has used a good car wash vs a detail service. Maybe I am wrong, but I would like to be able to see a comparison video of that. The only advantage detailers have in my area is that they can offer interior cleaning I feel like.

Those non touchless car washes beat the hell out of your car. They pick up dirt, mud, debris on the previous cars and then slap it all over yours. One of my friends takes their car through one and already has marks over her plastic areas. The touchless car washes are better for preventing marks on the car but they’re not really doing any cleaning worth paying for. If you truly care about your car have a professional do it or figure out how to do it yourself and save money.

@wilsonautodetailing4 жыл бұрын
Yes I am talking about top line revenue (gross). That being said, generally speaking, the products I suggest, as well as the business model I teach people to build creates a very LOW expense side of the equation, so while you may detail for $50 hourly, the LARGE majority of that is net profit. This isn't like creating products, and purchasing inventory with a 30% profit margin

Wilson Auto Detailing totally get it man, just saying that it may not be as simple as you lead on in the video. But you have to deduct for tools and products cleaners towels etc. and do you have to a license and insurance???
@tirkentube4 жыл бұрын
all of those products are tax-deductible. think of it like this. you get a $1000 paycheck from your employer at a job, taxes are taken out first thing, roughly 15% for federal (FICU, SSI, Medicaire), and in some states about 15% more for state tax.. after paying for benefits (401k and health insurance) you're down 30-35% easy on your check probably closer to 40% at that income level, so you're left with $600. He is making $1000 business income, and will also owe somewhere around 10-30% in taxes. Chances are, his taxes are lower as a self-proprietorship, but assuming they're the same as your paycheck's taxes, he can now deduct any costs of those items from those taxes, so he's investing in the business by buying those items, and now pays less taxes, and so at the end of the day, he's essentially made more money than you by being able to keep more of the gross earnings.
@tirkentube4 жыл бұрын
So let's say he earns $1000, he can buy the equipment, it cost $200. He owes the 40% ($300) in taxes on the $1000 but can deduct business expenses from that, so he's left with $600 AND the cleaning products.

question; when going to new clients' places; do you use their own water??? or do you own your own mobile tank of water etc.
@ChrisJones-jj7jy4 жыл бұрын
Most clients that NEED your services will offer there water. Best to have your own if not.

In LA, some detailers charge $25-$50 for a wash. Foam, 2 bucket wash, interior and wheels. In my opinion, their service is no where near your level. I would pay your rates.

If this wash includes decontamination process, it's 100% justified. Detailing chemistry is quite expensive

So the way I'm thinking, the way I've done my car's. About an hour and a half. Wash wax , trim, interior. Kind of type A anxious fast moving. And I figure a hundred and fifty bucks. I figure for doing something I like that's pretty good. Otherwise it's almost that anyway. But the medical professions a little stressful. So I think this would be fun to do on the side because obviously it's not a year-round thing, not consistent excetera excetera. In most cases

Any tips for getting your company name to new clients? Especially some non-social media ones for the rich older clients?
@jonpagel99174 жыл бұрын
I use Facebook groups too advertise there are many more platforms to advertise on but Facebook and Instagram both most popular.

Facebook groups are definitely a great idea, id also say this, when you utilize social media well, you will inevitably build a strong word of mouth reputation which is where the big dogs come in that you want. In my experience, it takes that 1 client who has some connections that will completely change your business

Good information to protect yourself from a lawsuit too, do you have insurance and have you ever had to use it ?

Why do you apply the foam canon first, rinse it and then another pass the wash mitt instead of using the wash mitt while the foam is on the truck? Nice videos bro
@wilsonautodetailing4 жыл бұрын
I do that sometimes, and other times I use the more traditional two bucket method, just depends on the situation. A lot of times applying with a foam cannon and simply washing the mitt in between panels can be quicker so I understand the appeal

@crankwalk2474 жыл бұрын
Awsome videos man. Quick question. at what point did you use the optimum no rinse?
@zechariahgarza89044 жыл бұрын
In regards to working in direct sunlight do you recommend working panel by panel then drying to help prevent water spots or the soap drying on the paint

Microfiber rags wash and then when you’re done, rinse the car down again, don’t worry about the soap residue and then use megs synthetic spray wax all over the car, rise off again and dry off. Watch Dallas paint correction on YT. He posts good tips and tricks for washing in direct sun light. I’ve used them cause I’m a mobile detailer myself.
@wilsonautodetailing4 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on your approach. What you mentioned above is much easier to do when you are using a rinseless approach with something like optimum no rinse, but yes it can be done with a traditional approach it's just a little bit more difficult dealing with overspray and such

Good work and vid. Just know there no chance a car takes a hour ,even a maintenance detail. Every tip you gave is great just saying 1hr or 1 and half seem a stretch. You said you were gonna clean the inside as well but didn't include it in vid or time
