Great content! But the only way OEMs will stop doing this is when tech reviewers give honest reviews about this. Every time a new phone is launched, reviewers should have a section covering the number of bloatware apps and then compare with other OEMs as you did. This is a good way to start a trend just as right to repair is which is what almost all OEMs are going against. Such a sad trend!
@ryuo.o2 жыл бұрын
What makes you think that these companies will listen just because "tech reviewers" gave an "honest" review? Yeah let me tell you. These companies don't sit their ass watching KZbin and Amazon or whatever and listening to just some people say things about their product.

@@ryuo.o Tech YTubers like MKBHD, Linus have a huge following. Once they criticize a brand, be it for anything, it turns lots of heads. Companies get affected by what they say. That is why they are only allowed to say certain things when they review brand new devices. Classsic example is Gamers Nexus video series about his experience with Newegg. That started a whole movement and many other people as well as YTubers brought out past issues with Newegg. These people have the power to bring about the change but that's if they want to. Of course, this should be the first step towards customising the software on your phone to your needs, but if you wish to go a little further, go through the developer community for your phone model and decide on a good custom ROM. One thing you would notice is that nowadays, you are getting very powerful devices at a very low cost rate. An another thing you would notice is that these are the phones that comes with so much bloatware. Why are they doing this? Well, they get almost zero profit from selling those devices. These bloatwares are the only reason low-middle income class is able to buy great smartphones.

Now I have switched to Oneplus but seriously missing a lot of features in Oxygen OS. So it's my recommendation to the people who are just avoiding Xiaomi because of bloatware to use this method and have a great user experience even slightly better than oxygen OS, to be honest. EDIT: Anyways Oneplus is losing its Originality by bringing ColourOS and shamelessly calling it OxygenOS 12 so highly recommended to go with this option.

There is an ADB command that can get bloatware uninstalled without root but it comes back if the device gets factory reset. Still it is better than disabling it. While it does not go away permanently you at least free up the storage it was using but only until a factory reset. To make it work you need some sort of app inspector to help find the package names. Also be careful, the command can probably remove things like critical parts of Android and I don't know if you can recover from that. I guess it depends on what it was but only take stuff off that you know is bloatware or you *might brick your device*. Really the next best thing would be to unlock the bootloader and get root that way. Back when that was easier Titanium Backup was sometimes used to remove the apps but it could remove something critical if you are not careful!!

It works well for the most part, but I wonder if Google already has a counter to it. Several of their apps either did not appear in the search despite having the exact package name, or otherwise would not actually uninstall. Gmail, for example, reports in UAD as uninstalled, but in the apps list on my phone, it still reads "Disabled" with 18.59 MB still used. However, Google apps and "Briefing" are the main culprits that seem to avoid actually getting removed. All others work like a charm.

This has benefits and I do it but it’s not removing the apps and does not usually free up much space, if any. It’s uninstalling them from the default user profile, hence the command pm uninstall -k -user 0. I know you mention they stay on system partition but that is why most of the space is still used. If the app has created user data or received an update then that is installed on the user data partition, meaning just the update or user data will actually be removed or freed up. The actual apps will still remain, taking up space.

Thanks. it's a useful video. I wish that the bloatware removal app had a graphical interface so that we don't have to keep guessing the package names of the apps.

Back when Android first came out the whole marketing campaign for it was the user had complete entire control, so that you can away from the things that Microsoft and other companies or trying to force upon you! That lasted all of 1 hot second!

*WAIT!!!* You can remove the permanent bloat from iQoo too? Heck, I'm buying the 7 then!🤣 Snapdragon 870, OIS and lack of bloat? I'm all for it.💪🏻

The only reason I'm NOT buying iqoo device is coz there's no way to unlock bootloader. Therefore no Custom Roms.
@Farhan_0492 жыл бұрын
@@tipujajotj3469 I too wasn't keen on iQoo because it's bootloader cannot be unlocked, just like Vivo. However, I also expected ADB to destroy the phone if I tried removing permanent bloat. Since that doesn't happen, I'm not concerned about custom ROMs anymore. I just require a lack of unneeded apps, OIS, decent battery endurance and charging speed. With ADB, I can simply remove these apps and have a great device in my pocket.

@@Farhan_049 i see. 😁 Well I'm gonna Wait a little While longer and see if there's Worthy device that comes up! Until then I'll just adjust with my Poco f1 with Custom Rom. 😁I actually can't live without few magisk modules like Energised protection⚡, Also my budget is a little tight as Well 🙏😂

After removing the bloatwares on your phone, did it free up some space on your internal storage? If not, then it just deactivated and hid it, but not completely uninstall the bloatwares.

From the settings, disconnect from any OEM accounts (when you delete an OEM account package it could lock you on the lockscreen because the phone can't associate your identity anymore)

Removing unnecessary bloatware apps from your device without rooting it should not harm the device itself. Disabling or uninstalling updates for these apps through the device settings is generally a safe and reversible process. It won't negatively affect the device's stability, warranty, or its ability to receive future security updates. However, it's essential to exercise caution and avoid uninstalling critical system apps, as doing so can potentially lead to unexpected issues. Stick to removing or disabling apps that you are confident are not essential for the device's core functionality. Always keep in mind that the exact steps and options may vary slightly depending on your device's manufacturer and Android version, so it's a good idea to consult your device's user manual or online resources for specific instructions.

You are correct. If you remove a necessary system app phone goes on boot loop. Or if you remove an app that is necessary for another app to work for example separate app sound then you won't have the option to connect to another device at same time but if you don't give a dam about all that then only apps you need are the reg system app that the phone requires mostly are phone messages clock launcher emergency launcher voice-mail etc....
