I have a Mini Peasant. It's a Roman Peasant knife made in New Zealand from a high-carbon Swedish tool steel called Sanvik L7 that Svord uses with a proprietary tempering formula to create an outstanding blade at a crazy cheap price. Svord makes their money from selling lots of knives instead of selling fewer at a larger profit. I filed that point off the back of the handle. It's a great EDC and you can drop it and so what? It's tough and inexpensive and perfect for what it is, a great blade that holds an edge EXTREMELY well with the most simple handle design and being able to grab that tang as you reach into your pocket is something you get used to right away.

Nice. A mini peasant will be one of my next knife purchases.

you wont regret it, in fact be cautious...it will make your expensive knives feel less...well special lol.

Definitely one of the coolest knives! I bought the kitset of the Peasant Knife a few months ago and modified it to my own taste. Among other things with leather handle scales and a blade safety device. This kitset is something really nice! I can recommend both; the knife and the kitset. Best regards Joe

Opinel and Svord/Svörd are both great knives, I could not give up one for the other, I have both of them. Also my favorites: - Victorinox 91mm handle models (Climber and Ranger I have): part of a multitool set: SAK + Knipex Cobra XS pliers are great together - Opinel: food prep and eating (only No.9, No.10 and No.12, not ever a smaller one than No.9!) - Mora knives: for outdoors, woods walking, light bushcrafting (if I will need something heavier, the bolo machete is in the car's trunk) - Tramontina bolo machete: the big guy for chopping, clearing, etc. Good to have around the house, and even in the trunk of the car (you never know where you ending up, right?) Inspite of the popular belief, some machete types actually very well suited for temperate - Central European - climate vegetation. The shorter blade, heavier front makes the "bolo" a very fine tool around the forest and bush in Central Europe too. - Svörd: it has a definite character, maybe the biggest love. It's a great slicer, comfortable and looks cool. It can replace an Opinel with ease, and on a light excursion - no heavy woodworking - even a Mora. But I carry it mostly because of the extra cool factor.

I bought the standard peasant knife with the larger blade and reduced the length by a few mm to comply with the 3 inch UK blade regulations. I also made myself a new wooden handle from a beach wood chopping board.

I agree, for me it is a baseline...any knife that doesn't cut as good needs to be rethought before purchasing

Oldies but Goldies... I only have a Svord Bowie (the big one), but that's not so really EDC-able...
