The Simpson Desert Solo Ride | What Happened to my Landcruiser?

In this video series join Terry from Jafffa Adventures as he heads out to the Simpson Desert for a solo trip on his motorbike. The plan is to camp just west of Big Red and do day trips west into the Simpson Desert.
Eyre Creek is in flood, so the desert is looking sensational.
On my way home my 200 Series Landcruiser has a critical failure that sees me on a tilt tray for the rest of the way home.

Hi Terry keep up the good work. I have noticed you’re not the first person with the BP51 suspension to have the front strut failure. I also have the same suspension been in for three years now with no problems so far. Would be interesting to see what arb have to say

Oh no! Was the "big bump" a deep pothole caused by the recent heavy rain in the area? They can be a trap. I've rearranged my in-canopy set up on one. Luckily no vehicle damage for me but I did manage to bend a fridge slide out of shape and break a dozen eggs all over my fridge contents. Hoping all is fixed now and you're back on the road.

Shame mate, ya 200, but at least you're ok and did it when in the clear. Suppose that'll be a future video. Cheers too for the patience in setting up your go pro to take those passing shots. That’s not good. Iv crossed the Simpson been recovered once, in a Land Rover. Hope it all gets sorted. Great video captured the atmosphere of the Simpson very well

Hi Terry, what’s the plan for replacing the Thuraya? I’m stuck with a $800 brick as well😢

I exchanged it for an Inmarsat unit. My provider gave me around $500 or so for the old handset, and discounted 12 months of subscription for the Inmarsat unit. I’m still out of pocket of course, but it’s less painful. Cheers😎👍
