He's not crazy he's telling the truth this universe is gone bonkers especially if he watch the itchy and scratchy show with bart and Lisa he would tell them that this is unorthodox. Bart: Hay Franky ? Frank: please just Mr Grimes Bart: sorry Lisa: Mr Grimes My brother and I are wondering if you want to watch cartoons with us. Frank: uh alright. But just one episode because I have a meeting with my therapist . Bart: okay just one , and here it is. Krusty the clown: hey kid's it's time for a new itchy and scratchy cartoons. (Itchy and scratchy show intro 🎶) Scratchy: (scratchy looking for a nice beach to picnic) Itchy:( itchy gave him a spot consider trap an ocean full of sharks and a mud of quicksand.) Scratchy: scream sharks and quick Sand Itchy: (evil laughter) Bart & Lisa: (both believed laughing for jokes) Frank: I don't get it why are you kids laughing didn't you see the cat he's only looking for a beach and you're just laughing at his humiliation. Lisa: it's only a cartoon sir it was meant for laughter. Bart: ya dude get to the programming. Frank: this does not look like comedy but rather than extreme violence , crossing and disgusting. Marge: is there a problem Mr Grimes. Frank: yes your children are undiscipline they're not even understanding the difference between right and wrong. Marge: believe me I learned it the hard way. Homer: don't worry grimy I'm pretty sure the next episode would make the cat win I think. Frank: I'll make sure of it but you're lucky my meeting is not until 2:00. (10 episodes later) Bart & Lisa : (both continue to laugh) Frank: will you stop that laughing of humiliation and cruelty . You Kids are undisciplined, uneducated, misunderstanding. Bart: English please Frank: this is English. What I'm really saying is you kids are too stupid to understand the difference between right and wrong no wonder why you keep getting detention at school after I'm hearing this from your father. At least I thought you were the smart one but turns out you're also second in mischief. Lisa: it's true Mr Grimes I am smart but why are you upset cartoons are supposed to be funny. Frank: yes but not the way it was meant to appear cartoons are supposed to be about comedy not about torture and framing innocence and double crossing. Bart: big deal Frankie. Frank: you're still not listening to me you little (strangling Bart's neck out of rage and patience) Homer: hey Granny what are you doing to my son that's my job only if he teases me and doesn't get my parent name right. Frank: Homer your children are undiscipline, creepy , psychotic , despicable and uneducated they're just like you lack of perfection. Listen if you don't control your children make them understand I have no choice but to send them to a military school academy. And for that I even miss my meeting. this world is insane!

Yeah precisely! THIS IS A FICTIONAL COMEDY! Obviously almost everything that happens in fictional universes is absolutely nonsensical and of course both the writers and the audience are fully aware of it. The Simpsons is absurd, that is what makes it laughable. That's what makes it entertaining. There's no insult to the audience's intelligence, it's just straight up comedy due to it's obvious absurdity. People who take the details of shows like the Simpsons, Dr Who, Star Wars, Harry Potter Avatar and so on seriously are just pitiful, because they are going to feel as if their intelligence is offended even though that is not the writer's intentions and if the writers do make canonical mistakes those really should be pointed out, then corrected in at least the audience's mind, then just forgotten about because really it's just a fictional story, it doesn't matter, just move the hell on. Frank Grimes is a parody yeah, but not of hard-working, admirably talented people in real life. He's a parody of people who take the unrealism of fictional shows too seriously. Any mature person would have just gone away from Springfield with that kid whose name I've forgotten who made the better nuclear power plant and find a future elsewhere, but he grew insecure due to his sense of importance being damaged by the very existence of a town as crazy as Springfield and people as idiotically wealthy as Burns and Homer, and that insecurity made him a spiteful fool. Perhaps he thought he could persuade people to be better through his complaining, but really he was a vain fool if that was the case. Being negative as opposed to being constructive, is foolish.

Frank Grimes was a guy who did everything he was told, by the book, and never got the reward that was promised for his integrity and determination. No trials kept him down because he new that the world would compensate him in the end for not giving up. Frank's mistake was assuming that just because he did everything the right way and was the poster child for "resolve", the world owed him everything he desired. His world views came into conflict when he meets Homer Simpson. A below average man, who never applied himself in anything, yet was given everything. Frank did not understand how Homer can be so beloved, blessed financially, and unscathed; this is everything Frank has worked towards. Unable to digest a case like Homer Simpson in comparison to his "works hard but never catches a break" life, Frank has a mental break down. Tragedy strikes when Frank succumbs to his belief of how the world should work. Lesson: Do not live life in a certain or restrictive way because you are promised a trophy at the end. Live a life that gives YOU personal fulfilment. A fulfilling life is the only trophy that you need.

You want to hear the real saddest part about all of this (excluding the later seasons) is that Frank is under the assumption that Mr. Burns gives Homer a free pass. While it is True Mr. Burns does treat Homer differently than anyone else in his life, it’s ultimately Burnses fault that Homers life is what it is today. He made Homers mother run away, leaving her son. Mr. Burns tried to make Bart his heir. He took Lisa’s environmental solution into a means of killing tons of sea life for profit. He even tried to kill Abe Simpson, and sleep with Homers wife. Despite all of that, Mr. Burns doesn’t even remember Homers name.
