the Death tome episode reminded me of one of the few good bits of the Netflix adaption of Death Note..the scene where our erstatz Light threatens to write RYUK's name in the book. DaFoe, who was PERFECT as the voice of the shingami, just laughed and answered "there are four letters in my name, kid. closest anyone's ever gotten is two."

@@maryrose2676the official rules of the death note in the manga and anime is that it be written. Pencil, pen, blood (use a PEN, Sideshow Bob!) doesn’t matter, as long as the letters/characters in the name are legible and all other rules of the Death Note are followed.

Hmm... I'm not so sure about that... I mean it sounds like it might've been a good idea in theory, but I think in practice yellow skin just wouldn't look right in an anime style at all... especially if we wanna see the Simpsons as more realistic albeit still fairly cartoon-like portrayals of actual human beings... ;o But hey, at least the bright yellow hair allows Lisa to retain some of that iconic Simpsons charm, does it not? If I recall correctly, the Simpsons Comics did the Death Note parody way before this. Even had a manga style with black and white, only instead of Lisa having the book it was Bart and the Shinigami was Krusty in a wolfman costume. Of course Lisa was L in that comic as well.

The reason I pose the question of why the others are so stupid is simply because they don't act very smart at all. Most of the stuff they do and say is completely derp worthy, with an exception of Lisa, at times. But generally, they're far from being considered truly "intelligent."
