Playing Sims 2 DS was like a fever dream. Fighting aliens, monkey robots, a mafia boss, and a goth chick who made a cult that worshipped a cow god. It was insane and I loved every second of it.

My favorite memory of the Sims 2 DS is that my friend who owned the game when we were kids had misread Tristan Legend’s name as “Trance.” It sounded like enough of a handsome-guy name to me, so I didn’t question it. Eventually I read his name, and we started calling him Tristan, but to a small part of me he will always be Trance.

Would love to see similar deep dives into the other console and handheld Sim's ports. Idk why but they're so much more entertaining and fascinating to me than the main/PC games.

Sims 2 was definitely the most bonkers game in the franchise. Remember the Strangetown family in the PC game who were just trying to blend in with everyone?

If a quote could sum up this game, it would be Mama Hogg quivering in fear shouting "Help! Help! Insane domestic cleaning robots have invaded the city! Help!" 😭😭😭

Omg I remember playing this game and weirdly, I remember playing it late at night (when I should be in bed) and the fact it was dark and nighttime in the game as well unnerved me, distinctly remember going into the desert as well... Don't ask me why just one of those weird things haha. Love the video!!!

as a kid i was terrified of the sims 2 ds aliens, i had nightmares about them, i didn't know how to get rid of them when they invaded and they scared me so much i sold my game LMAOO. i came back to this game about 2 years ago and i really love it. it has a eerie liminal space vibe to it but the story is fun. the psp version of the sims 2 is also great

There was an article about this a couple of years ago, Kotaku maybe? Anyway, one of the developers did an interview of sorts about some of it as well.. I picked it up cheap and didn't seem to experience anything creepy or "haunted" as the article called it.. But then, maybe every copy truly is personalized..

The DS game has gotten a lot of attention online recently, but I really need to promote the PSP one. It basically fully embraces how weird an "adventure game in the world of The Sims 2" is going to be and delivers something incredibly unique. The writing, worldbuilding, gameplay and even plot twists just go way beyond the other versions. Its biggest problem is being janky but eh, deadlines. It even ties in to the PC game! It's really a shame that it's somehow even more forgotten. Also, I played the DS game later but I was disappointed, it felt shallow. A good example is the 'cow cult' concept, which in DS is a weird room that a character goes to, but in PSP is a major arc where you get to become part of it and learn their teachings, and it ties into the overarching plot. Their ritual also becomes a minigame which is funny. I know DS has its fans though, this was just my disappointment with it due to my expectations. TL;DR I'm rambling online because this game is so obscure I feel like I'm the only one that knows it at this point lmao

Loved this video! It was really informative. Well done -wheres the 200k views- The game. While i did love it a lot its also a bit flawed. Especially when it comes to the characters themselves. They dont do much except talk. Then you disappear and then apparently they did something off screen. But still a pretty fun experience 🫠 Also 16:07 the way she screams in the game is Microphone-Breaking

Thank you so much for the support! I do agree that I wish more could've been done with regards to the other characters, I am mindful of the limitations of the time. Would be really cool to see this game remastered and expanded upon for the Switch or something!
@TheOneAccountsAccountАй бұрын
@fozjag ooh I'd explode if they'd remaster this or the other handheld ports! 🫠 Yeah the DS was limited but they made it work. Also the timed dates they set (22nd March Kayleigh has special dialogue) and the game reacting to the time being set differently.
@fozjagАй бұрын
@TheOneAccountsAccount I had no idea about the special dialogues that's so cool!

@@fozjag it's sadly only one phone call but it's still a cool thing that adds a bit to their character. I believe the other characters have one too but I sadly don't remember the dates ☹️
