This was an epic build (dat roof!) aside from the hideously 70s interior! Top effort.

My grandma's house was built in the very early seventies, so I can tell you firsthand that this is spot-on. She, like this house, has a hideous bathroom with a green toilet, shower, and sink.

Wow great job! I am 60 yrs old so I was alive back then and you really captured it properly. Brings back memories, we still laugh at the family pics of the 60s and 70s because that Avocado Color appliances was popular back then, my Mom's favorite lol. Love it!

I grew up in the 1970s and I can tell you that you are spot on mate! You could even call this an "Early 70's" house. By the time us Yanks were celebrating the bicentennial (1976), the 70's styles really began changing. The horrendous colour schemes and psychedelic feel began to fade.

It's a Let's Play, not a house building series. That series is not about building the best house, it's about playing the game and having a laugh, that's what I intend it to be anyway. Most of the series isn't even building, the sims are actually in University at the moment, and previously the had travelled to Al Simhara, lots of fun moments! :D

I realize it's been quite some time since you made this video and chances of you reading this comment are slim, but in regards to the comment you made about having to take the pool table apart to get it in the basement, ALL pool tables are actually moved in pieces and assembled on site. They weigh around 650-900 pounds. Just thought someone might enjoy knowing. Thank you for all you do.

Holy Shit. My Grand-mother moved out of her house back in the 1990s when my grand-father and her came to the city for treatments. They didn't sold the house, and never really modified it since the late 70s, and to be honest it used to have the same feeling to it. The stone, the woods, the carpet (The carpets were so ugly!!!). Floral patterns, accordion doors, huge drapes.... And the smell. Oh! It was so awesome. We sold the house a while back, and of course the new owner changed it entirely. But I still have so much childhood memories going there with my family. Great build.!

One of my Aunt lives about an hour or so outside of Las Vegas. I love almost everything about her house... The backyard is small but nicely kept, the three bedrooms are also small, but have small walk-in closets, the kitchen has just the right amount of cupboard space and there are two bathrooms. The first bathroom is a little on the small side, but has a nice shower. The second bathroom is huge with; two sinks in the long counter, a large corner tub, a shower in the second corner, toilet near one of the sinks and wall-to-wall carpet! It's the only thing about her house I couldn't understand... I mean, what's the point of putting carpet in the bathroom!?! It's a breading ground for germs, that's why rugs are better. With rugs, you can take them out to wash them, or just replace them after a while. You can't replace carpet quite so easily.

I don’t know why but I love 50s, 60s, and 70s styles I know they are hideous but u just love everything about them idk. I’d love to live in a old 50s diner (renovated obvs) I feel like I should have been alive in the 70s. Maybe it’s because I’m so close to my grandma and she was a teen in the 79s. And I like the that 70s show

A lot of the slang you were using (psychedelic, groovy) was more 1960s than 70s. Just pointing that out as you mentioned the Austin Powers movies, as the Austin Powers character himself was based in 1967. Other than that this is a great house and you've got great attention to detail. Keep up the good work!

Still got the old yellow washer and dryers and they still work to this day! Grew up extremely poor so everything i own was hand me downs, i never had something new in my entire life! Had one brother and i was a girl so all his old clothes i got! My bed frame is from the 40s from my great grandma and great grandpa. My dressers, tables, couches were all 40s style from great grandparents. The rest of the family claimed their house. This house takes me back to my childhood days! We had 70's,40's, 20's and every thing in between furniture. i still have all of my great grandparents furniture to this day! I'm fully grown and still poor as hell. lol I still wear hand me downs. All my money goes towards rent, and after paying rent i have a whopping 10 dollars left out of my paycheck! Life shouldn't be about being a slave to working but unfortunately it is. =(

I know this was 2 years ago, but we had a pool table and you want to move them as little as possible but when you do move them, they come totally apart. the legs un screw and the felt is removed. The top of a pool table is multiple slabs of slate that are seriously heavy and require professional movers but after that the sides all separate from each other and everything gets reassembled in the new location and you usually have to get new felt for it. Just a little "The more you know!" for ya. :)

I am such a huge fan of retro, mid-century, chic, and 70's houses, music, CLOTHES, etc. I LOVE this house! However, the roof is a little high for a 70's house, but of course, constrainFloorElevation False is VERY hard to work with.

this reminds me of houses found here in Sweden.. we have lots of them old houses and most still have their old wallpapers and floors and such, although it's getting with the times to renovate them, mostly because they need to. And people have brought their own furniture with them, not having that old look. But I swear, my grandparents live in this house that my grandpa's father, grandfather and great grandfather built up. They renovated the kitchen before, but for a long time they didn't have a sink (no water) and an outhouse. not even a proper stove.

In the Brady Bunch TV Show, one of the kids broke the horse statue playing football in the house. "Mom always said, don't play ball in the house." In A Very Brady Sequel (the satire movie), the statue was worth a lot of money and some guy thought up a plan to steal it from them. I think Marsha's nose was broken by a football in one of the films where they used the same line from the tv show.

I quite like this house - it's a very quiet version of a 70s house. I know you won't believe me but the single statement wall of bright vibrant colours with the other three being in matching toned down colours just didn't happen - ALL four walls would've been in the same pattern wallpaper. And every room would be different (stairs, hallway and landing would be counted as one room). Bathrooms all had carpet or a large rug to give them that luxury feel - and talking of carpet - you wouldn't believe the patterns that were considered perfect for a every day house. You probably couldn't have put them in anyway as I can't see why they would've been included in the game lol. That green coloured bathroom? Was called a 'Avocado suite' by the way.

In my grandparents basement it leads to the outside because the ground slopes down so you could have done that. First in the basement there are stairs without a railing leading down then there is a room with a couch pushed against the stairs with another couch next to it and a tv against a column also in that room is a bar, and a pool table off of that room is a bathroom with the same green stuff you put in the video and a closet. Off of the main room through a sliding glass door is a small room with a hot tub in it then a sliding glass door leading to the outside.
