The Sims 3 is the third major title in the life simulation video game developed by The Sims Studio (Maxis) and published by Electronic Arts. It is the sequel to the best-selling computer game, The Sims 2. The Sims 3 is built upon the same concept as its predecessors. Players control their own Sims' activities and relationships in a manner similar to real life. The game play is open-ended and does not have a defined goal. Challenges occur randomly based on aspects of each Sim's lifestyle, such as relationships, skills and job. Career opportunities such as working overtime or completing special tasks can yield a pay raise, cash bonus, or relationship boost. Skill opportunities are requests by neighbors or community members for Sims to solve problems using their acquired skills for cash or relationship rewards. If the opportunity is connected to a Sim's school, the reward may be increased school performance.
The game includes an optional feature called "Story Progression" which allows all Sims in the neighborhood to autonomously continue free will without the player ever controlling those sims.

When I was a kid, I never had Sims 3, neither did I have a gaming console or play games much on my laptop, yet I feel like the games, and the software design in general was so much better during that time. And so was the music. The soundtrack of TS3 alone makes me so nostalgic for something I never experienced. I wonder if there’s a word for that.

Anemoia. It’s not as uncommon as you may think. It’s why a lot of people will feel some sort of nostalgia when looking at pictures or videos of the backrooms when none of us have been there. Almost like the warped reality we experience in dreams can also be nostalgic

Same! I have had an iPod 4 and later a PS3 and then around 2017 I got the game but the pets version. I thought the pets version was the only one on PS3 because I couldn’t find it anywhere! I’m so glad it is! I really want it! I wonder if there’s other Versions on the PS3?

I think that was one of the core selling points of The Sims 3, I was too young at the time to remember, but my older cousin said that they hyped the game's graphics up a lot in the advertisements for the game!

That's true because EA made Sims more cartoony even in interactions. That didn't suppose it was Sims 4, it supposed it was more realistic but I see that they didn't make it 😿

i have the sims 2, 3, and 4 on console and i find the sims 3 on console to be the best. Not only does it have kids in the game (unlike the sims 2 for console), it just has so much life to it. it doesn't feel the same everyday like the sims 4. if i could rate this game, it would be an 1000/10

Now they could just put the pc version on console with expansions. Sims 3 was too ahead of its time in 2009 for most people to play the pc version comfortably.

I originally played it on the PC, so playing the PS3 version was equally wild! I thought it would be a direct copy of the PC version, but seeing how different it is was a great surprise. The karma system appears to be exclusive to PS3 version.

When EA developed the sims years ago I was hooked and remembered the axact box it came in it was a light blue box with sims on the front of the box and it contained the sims CD and a owner's manual on how to play the game then they started making expansion packs I bought all the sims expansion packs and loved it then sims 2 was developed by EA games I had to have it and bought it and all the sims 2 expansion packs I was enjoying the sims franchise very much then sims 3 got developed and I bought it and all the expansion packs which made sims 3 the Bomb there was endless possibilities open world no more loading screens it was Fantastic .🎉 then it happened EA couldn't stop there they kept the sims franchise going and developed sims 4 and you can tell the workers at EA games aren't putting the time and effort into the sims 4 like they did with the sims 1 2 and 3 I can also tell they got all different staff and they are terrible the sims 4 neighborhoods are horrible if you can even call them neighborhoods there are only up to 3 empty lots you can move into sometimes not even that if your lucky I have seen the sims 4 go from horrible to just plan trash with the expansion packs getting worse and worse I hate to see what EA does with sims 5 God help us 🤮🤮🤮🤑🤑🤑🤑

No, you can't with the analog stick like you can in The Sims 2

If I remember correctly, I had Sims 2 and Sims. 2 Pets on ps2 as a kid, and the pets version was missing loads of features from the original Sims 2. Does anyone know If this is the same? Like is it Sims 3 with extra features, or does the pet features replace some of the original stuff. If so, what is missing?

I'm trying to play sims 3 on ps3 and when I start the game it just sits on a black screen with the sims diamond spinning? It's been like 15 20 mins. Is it loading or froze? Any tips??

I have this for ps3 but it freezes every five seconds when I played this a while back when I first had my ps3 which was around sometime before 2016 and around 2016 it didn’t glitch could it possibly be the ps3 system that’s glitching and not the game

@@unoriginal.8182 sounds like the blu-ray drive on your ps3 is on its last legs does this happen on any other game? (By the way you can try cleaning the laser inside the blu-ray drive just look up how to do it on youtube)

@@Fogolol yes certain games that use to play perfectly are glitching a bit I got my game copy to work and I tried it the next day and it was freezing again some of my games are working some are not I’m going to test some more games out Tomorrow afternoon

@@unoriginal.8182 By the way tilting your ps3 back like 15 to 40 degrees seems to help with these types of issues but if it does work it means your drive really is going bad so its just a temporary fix
