When he was standing around 'talking' to customers, he _was_ doing his job! That is how they sell stuff. The bars weren't going up quickly because the mark-up is 100%. If you praise employees for talking to customers (when the task 'answer customers questions' is assigned), criticise them when they play on their phones or sit around eating instead of working, and befriend them generally, also promote them as their skill in sales etc goes up, they get better and better and faster at their job. I'm sure by now most people know this, but just thought I'd say incase anyone comes to this video - and the Get To Work expansion - late.

@Chizzle Frizzle Nizzle Again, because the markup is 100%. Customers are hesitant to buy at such inflated prices so their bar goes up _very_ slowly.

You should get her the Marketable trait from the rewards store. Some large masterpieces will sell for anywhere from 4000 to 8000, and with 100% markup, you can double that!

James, to make your employees work better, you need to have a good relationship between your sim and the employee. The better the work condition, the better the employee does.

Think you may need to give your employees a chance. Surely they can only answer questions IF the customer has any? You are interacting with more than just answering questions so it kind of makes sense that the bar goes up quicker for you. Plus, you can push your sim to the limits - however, an employer may need to take a break to eat or to get fun - especially when they have been there for over six hours. Really enjoying your series!

OK, so I'm watching this series 4 years later (b/c I'm new to Sims, and KZbin as a source of entertainment (aside from music videos). I literally just spit my coffee out cracking up. Picture my scene: I'm a lawyer, about to start prepping for depositions - a friend texted me so I was looking down, took a sip of coffee and looked up at the screen right to where your new employee was dancing in Lady's apartment. James - you kill me - I'm roflmaoooo so hard! Best entertainment, I swear! :) :)

You can click on the employee to assign him a work task. They get better and better at everything, and also, if they are slacking you can talk to them or praise them for their work, and a bunch of stuff. Also, make sure to manage employees every now ans then to see if he is satisfied. If not, you can promote him and stuff. Hope ot helped.

Hilarious! The first employee was doing his job... talking to the customers, which is what you assigned him to do. So you fired him. Then you hire the other one and she was doing the same thing... exactly what you told her to do "answer customer questions". If you had set either of them to ring up sales, then they would have finished any deals during the day. Well it should prove interesting if you learn as you go through this whole series. LOL

James you need to give the emplyees a bit time to settle in. Yeah it might seem they are just fiddeling around but in time they really do ok. But ring up customers well I havent had much luck with that yet. But my eployees was cheap ones. Teens etc with no experience. He could have done good ringing up. Love watching this series. You make me laugh. Wonder why the descritption of the light is screaming dont feel you have any effect on that huh? LOL : Obviously they are watching your videos. next bright light will be called KATRINAS light. :)

You should have her marry the gardener. See if you can spawn in the old one somehow, but if not just marry the normal one. The use him as your middle, or just as another sales person.
