The reason the cakes are under cooking is because the baking skill is only available through Get to Work. They keep the cakes under base game so everyone can age up their sims without having to have an expansion pack.

As a baker, baking and cooking are different skill sets. I’d rather it be that if you have get to work, all of the base game based goods are changed to the baking tab/skill. If you don’t have it, they remain a cooking thing.

The way it fixes is you just have to manually click your Sim and send them home, and then they can pick a new gig and the game will act as if you completed the reno for the most part. It's tedious and stupid but at least it prevents me being held hostage.

@@hyejinmoon4882 didn’t work last time I tried it was greyed out and says something like “this sim is at work” 😂 only way I could get sim to leave was to quit the job, after I did the renovation and I lost reputation and made no money! Even waited at client lot for 12 hr over the gig end time! 😒

I thought it was just me! My reputation went down the drain because it didn't tick off the final task (show the customer their house). I never get paid either when that happens. Its incredibly annoying.

I usually get scared when they release an update wondering what its going to break and dreading updating my mods but this time I'm pleasantly optimistic. I've been annoyed how messy the recipes have been for a while and I've actually been looking forward to this one.

So it took a +10 GB patch just to fix the cupcake controversy and other small bugs? Just wow. I did notice the interface change for the cooking. And I'm right there with you on cupcakes being under "cook". REALLY annoyed me it's not under BAKE, and they still couldn't even do that -_-

I hate their sorting system. Especially in clutter items or choosing a color. I always forget where the bathrobes, toiletpaper rolls or towls are. They have wall hangings... why are those towls that HANG ON A WALL not in wall hangings... and why are there two different clutter sections 😢 I'm glad that we don't have to use the cupcake machine but yeah the cooking and baking is weirdly made

cupcakes are base game but baking isnt, thats pretty much the reason why cakes and cupcakes are under cook/gourmet cooking and not bake - but honestly they could just make "baking" base game with get to work making it a skill + adding a ton more recipes (thats way too much work to expect tho lol)

Ugh it sucks that the picture fixing update doesn't work for old pictures. That's the whole point of the keepsake box, I was wanting to add pictures of the kids in this family I have that ate now all adults. Don't want their toddler/child pictures disappearing 😢

I can imagine the Sims team perhaps calling Home Chef Hustle "Hot Kitchen" if they wanted an easier to remember name and so that it contrasts Cool Kitchen... plus it fits the theme of all these hot cooking appliances... and I don't think that Hot Kitchen is an inappropriate name after Maxis' lingerie kit and especially when they referenced Wicked Whims in at least the Laundry Day pack. lol Not to mention *woohoo* being a thing at all... lol

As my late husband used to say: "Cooking is an art; baking is a science." He was a really good cook, but he avoided baking anything like the plague. They really are two different skills. Many people may have both, but some people only have one and not the other.

There's a way you can probably get your photos back if they have turned black. Everytime you take a picture with a camera or if you're doing a reference painting, there's always a screenshot of it saved in your Sims folder. There's an easy tutorial to make custom pictures with Photoshop or a similar program and you can make your screenshots into custom art, so it's not lost forever. And if you want it as an actual photo, you can snap a photo of the art in game too. 😊

A couple things that still bother me are when sims come over they still randomly bake cakes constantly. I had a group gathering and literally every member baked cakes the whole time they were over, it wasn’t a baking club lol. Then another thing but am I alone in thinking the neighborhood stories thing really can horribly mess up your game very swiftly. Among other gripes I still have quite an issue with sims just constantly flirting and doing romantic actions with almost any sim whether they are married or in a relationship, like the sims is just a huge lovefest. I love the sims and have quite a few packs ect but this small stuff is such a pain. It’s hard to have a faithful couple, it seems like not a lot to ask to have your sims not all be whores. Lol thanks for listening to my rants, I wonder if other share my frustrations. Thanks for the video and I’m sorry I went off on the that tangent, the update just made me think of the cake baking bug. I hope it get addressed soon.

I know that looking nice is part of KZbinr presentation ... however ... I appreciate when people show their REALNESS on social media also. Why do we feel we have to apologize for not being polished and filtered with perfect lighting etc.? Ok besties, hear me out: baking is different than cooking in the sense that you have to prepare your food perfectly from the start (all ingredients of perfect weight and temperature) shove it in an oven and hope for the best. With cooking, there are countless opportunities to adjust your meal. You can be halfway done and decide you'll add some ginger to your meal. Think of baking like 'a lot of control at the beginning, none in the baking process' 😊 P.s. I don't even care about cooking in the game, everyone eats garden salad.

I swear if I ever win the lottery; I am buying EA and The Sims (ALL OF THE SIMS GAMES), I am hiring all of the modders to fix everything wrong with the game, re-release it as "The Sims Infinity". It would include everything we LOVE from all of the games (The Sims 1/2/3/4) while correcting all of the crap that the previous owners screwed up. PLUS I would re-release all of the original games themselves only they would be fixed and bug free while including all of the most used mods and those features in the game. NO MORE LE! Something I would also consider if it is something people would want, I would create an online version of the game where the sims in your worlds really are other players in real life. Create REAL online business lots in the game where players could create their own CC and put it up for sale in the game, and the person playing will be able to turn simoleons into crypto. You would still be able to play the game the way you would normally, no fees or business costs or anything like that. A 100% open and free market in a video game. Creating a whole new business category. The only problem with that is you would have to have your own crypto to actually buy goods and that means the game would have to have access to your banking account. Outside of those two factors, that would be pretty cool. And you can literally make money playing a game AND creating your own content. I swear if this happens later down the road, they stole this idea and you heard it first from me lol BUT that is what I would do if I ever won the lottery.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with this idea that dine out was meant for you to make your own food. There are many people who own restaurants that don't make their own food. It is an unpopular opinion, but it is literally just giving the experience of owning a restaurant without making your own food like many restaurants do where they have the chefs do the cooking. It is not always the owner cooking, even if it is their recipe.

i read the patch notes and honestly, breathed a sigh of relief reading a few of the bugs they fixed - of course the cupcakes change is welcome, they also fixed random good friends begging to be my playable sim's bestie only to get so upset when i refused (best friends need to be more meaningful, especially when they count towards a milestone in growing together), also vegans grabbing meaty leftovers from the fridge was something that happened to me when one of my parent sims in a family was walking to the fridge, taking whatever hit his hand first, and then weeping when he ate that nonveg food he took lol

The gardening problem started before Eco Living, that's all I know. I created a sim to be ready for the pack, to get his skills up, and the gardening was messed up then. And honestly, it has been "fixed" so many times that I will believe it when I see it. And probably not even then.

This would happen with no warning and sometimes they would stay this way for more than an in-game season. (This happened to plants that were in season and even if they were indoors too.) It was just really annoying haha
