I‘m honestly not convinced. Some stuff looks really good, but a lot of it doesn’t really look goth to me. But I’m definitely missing a goth kilt or masculine skirt! That’s essential imo.

Well the Tweet did say *Contemporary* Goth so I would associate with 2010's Nu Goth/Killstar Clothing and maybe 2020 Egirl? High School Years has clothing adjacent to that. Perhaps I'm not a purist (hell I had a phase when I was super into trad goth) but all of these items are "goth enough" to me.🤷‍♀

@@justachillkpoplover yes your right. It should be fair for both platforms. I think it's pricy for the content though. Cc creators offer way more items for less money than ea does usually better quality. It's a real shame cc and mods can't be on consoles than everyone could enjoy.

I think the Villareal family in Windenburg would have a castle since the lot they are on are on the ruins of a castle. Honestly all of Windenburg is prime for castles. I honestly play with alot of royalty mods so I am so hype for the castle kit. The cc creator you were thinking of with the boots I believe is Trillyke she has a really nice pair of boots like that

A Vampire Castle, a Castle for a Frankenstein scientist, a small Watchtower that is now the Home of a little Farmer-Family, and a Castle-Like Manor like in Gothic Novels. Or a Witch-Tower with a more Spooky Vibe, until now because of most of the Swatches most Witch-Towers have a more Romantic-Flair to it and are not Spooky. Together with the "Get Together"-Stuff and the Vampire-Stuff I will be able to make proper Castles.

They could have gone so many ways with the goth kit and its extremely disappointing. As a goth, these items really arent that good. Its just... its not bringing me the spooky vibes i normally get from goth. Its not getting me excited. It doesnt make me wanna dance in the graveyard listening to sisters of mercy or bauhaus. I don't want to be negative since I've been so excited about the goth kit, but the assets are very underwhelming for me. There are so many different goth subcultures/styles they could've gone for from victorian to romantic, traditional, even nu goth. But this just feels like they saw one or two pieces and made alternate versions of it. I think they were aiming for nu goth, but to me it just feels more like some of the clearance stuff in Hot Topic in the early 2000s (which isn't bad but again each of the clothing pieces kinda feels like the same item in different fonts). The medieval kit looks good, but I feel it would've made a better stuff pack so you can have more items. Hopefully seeing them in game will change my mind. -Update: now that the kits are out I think they look better than anticipated, but I do wish there were more assets.-

Yeah I absolutely get what you mean. Goth was their chance to go deep cut with and unique with layered stuff, truly niche stuff from various subcultures and then throw in some goth staple accessories. That would have given. Where are the layers?

there’s all different kinds of goths though and it seems everyone has a different definition of what they see as goth. i do think this is more modern day goth and it looks like they went for what’s trending now with goth fashion. they should’ve classified this kit as alternative though because it’s caused a lot of chaos in the community on what is and isn’t goth

It's obvious the sims team doesn't know what the hell goth actually is and just thinks "haha, lets add some black swatches to things and get some black lipstick and nails and that's goth". what if this is what goth is for a lot of people? goth fashion has expanded a lot and there’s a lot of different kinds of goth, like A LOT. casual goth, victorian goth, pastel goth, romantic goth, gothic lolita, modern day goth, e-girl goth, vampire goth, trad goth, soft goth, cyber goth.. the list goes on. this may not be goth to you, but it may be for someone else. i’ve noticed online people are super weird and judgy with what’s goth and even making people feel like shit on places like tiktok if a girl makes a video showing her goth outfit or makeup and someone will comment things like “is the goth in the room with us? this isn’t goth” i own some goth clothing and i love anything alternative but tbh im quite literally scared to ever even classify anything im wearing as goth because someone will have something to say about it so i just stick to the term alt lmao
