Hi Satch, love you're videos etc, you cheer us all up! I play sims 4 on the x box as it's my hobby for me time! I would seriously, think about paying for mods to add that bit extra as a playing adult to the game, sometimes were just limited in story telling as a console player. Thank goodness for the gallery and we appreciate the extra content that helps us achieve our sims 4 enjoyment and best life.

​@gloomrabbit That would make sense only if it was original content. No mod or CC is made completely without copyrighted assets from the game it's for. That's the reason EA stopped The Sims Resource from monotizing the content on it. All player made content is made with the game, that EA has the copyright for.

I stopped trying to use mods or cc at all when all my cc broke with the baby update. The game is plenty fun without it and it’s better to just not have any than to have to constantly update it and keep track of what’s what.

Curse is not a good company and the modders get paid pennies. Not to mention they're trying to form a monopoly and even intentionally cut off 3rd party access to downloading the mods. As for free updates. The reason stakeholders would be interested even in free things is the free things draw in more users. Users who are then more tempted to buy the paid kits/packs. Also why they made base game free. They only keep on with this insanity because people continue to throw money at them, in effect rewarding their behavior. Until people stand up against these things, the companies have more of a reason to get worse than to get better.

They released TS2 for a very limited time and then got rid of it ASAP. TS3 is back. I don’t know why they won’t give us TS2. Just because I have TS3 and TS2 doesn’t mean I won’t play TS4. I prefer build/buy from TS4 then any other installation.

It's onlymy speculation, but I think they won't put it back on origin (it used to be there for free), because it's old game and there are sometimes problems with running it on newer system and needs patching (there are some mods on the internet). Also I've seen too many ts4 players hating it because it's "outdated", so why putting ts2 if you can earn selling broken ts4 dlc.

yeah, i’ve stopped playing. i can’t even share the game with new players like my non-Sims friends cuz they get frustrated when actions just DON’T work without queuing the action a million times and micromanaging. i don’t mind it as much but i don’t want to be saddened when i play the game lol. the sims 4 is my favorite game (with mods, that is an important caveat) and it sucks.

The issue is that they only test the new pack with the base game AND not any other pack or combo of packs. That's why they're able to churn them out so much.

I just now started playing with mods, but since they dropped so many updates they’re broken. I’m just going to delete all of them and wait out the update and pack storm. I don’t know why they’re all of a sudden having inspiration after 10 years since the game came out. I wish they would move on to TS5 and work on making it work and not shelling out a soulless game like TS4. Also, I’m tired of 2014 CAS realness. The CAS clothes are so ugly and have very little choices. Tbh, they should do a complete update on CAS makeup, outdated clothes, nails, etc. They gave us those god awful MAC and outdated makeup and completely abandoned it. I’m so over being excited and then disappointed with the end result. They promise so much and the trailers look amazing. But, actually playing the game is depressing. For an example, the man reason I don’t play with the horse pack is because of how dead the town is. There’s no one around and you can’t interact with 95% of it. I was looking forward to a country ranch pack and I got a ghost town pack. One of the many reasons I never leave my lots because they’re all ghost towns, have little to no interaction, and too many loading screens just to go to your next door neighbor or your tenant.

Sadly I don't think any amount of new content is gonna entice me to play anytime soon. Every time I go into the game I find myself bored and not knowing what to do. The Sims just annoy me with their "sameness" it doesn't seem to matter what their Age is or their Likes or Dislikes are they just continue doing the same old, same old. I hate to be a downer but it's honestly how I feel.

Man what sims 4 truly need is * Bug fixes * instead of new pack refesh older packs It's been what 25 yrs and we didn't have more active career more than 4 or 5 & and no new gym equipment were add into the game as time passes on like do i have to take support of mods for ever so little things at some point it get frustrating for low laptop gamer as my self * And the part problem is creator who play sims 4 don't call out sims much instead they support them because it helps thier pocket no hatefor that but it a part of problem & no body can't deny

If they are thinking about monetizing mods, I think it’ll be in line with how Bethesda studios does mods for Fallout and Elder Scrolls. There will be free ones for sure, but there will be ones that are sort of “sponsored” by the developers and therefore will have a price attached to it

I think no matter how detailed a pack in sims 4 it always ended up with the same boring gameplay. Like witch in sims 3 with far less gameplay mechanic than the sims 4 but i can burn other people house or start fire in community lot for fun in sims 3😂

The prices of the packs from the mobile games make me worried about charging for CC and Mods. They charge $12.99 for 3 items each in 3 colors in a pack on the app games.

I prefer paying modders through patreon or donation buttons. Mostly because I like to see a track record of them keeping up with their mods. And I like to see how their quality is for a bit before I jump in with $$$ support. The modders I choose to support are the ones I keep going back to because they not only produce quality mods, they mostly try to keep up with them as the game evolves.

The roadmap lasted 4 months, which is a tertial not a quarter. 5 content updates per tertial would amount to 15. Since kits are irrelevant content, I‘d expect 3 or 4 actual packs this fiscal year.

With the thing of paying cc and mod creators, i think that the way the creators tend to use patreon is the best system, it’s available earlier for those who pay monthly to support the creators and then after a few weeks or so its free, the only time I fully agree with needing to pay for mods is with nsfw ones, mostly because a lot of websites dont allow nsfw for free

Last year was probably the first year I didn't buy expansion packs right away and I didn't buy all the kits. It's been underwhelming for awhile now, especially the kits. With so many issues in live mode I've been building 90% of the time for almost 2 years. And so much CC is better than the actual game items that I've been getting more of that too. Our family has been Sims players since Sims 1 but I am more excited about Paralives than I am about Project Rene. Sims/EA really need to step up soon bc Paralives looks good.

As a PS4 player I would absolutely pay to at the very least purchase Carl's Dine Out Reloaded to use with my game. That game pack was a classic bait & switch, I bought it thinking my sim could be a chef running a family restaurant... maxed all his cooking type skills and charisma only to realize it was all a waste of time because we can essentially just own a restaurant but have to hire staff to do all the gameplay.🤦

So 15 new packs coming out! I recently spend over £100 to update my sims 4 on the console I have every pack, now I know why I had to agree to that new player terms of agreement by EA on Monday. If console players get user content or modded content, depending on what or how good the content is I would download it if it is worth it even if it is behind a pay wall, if it's (better clothing, hairstyle packs or no pixelated effects content 👀) I'm on the PS5 and there has been so many occasions that I have downloaded a sim from the EA gallery, that it has clothing missing because it is a pc created content that uses custom content. And lastly PS5 users need a sims 4 upgrade patch for next gen consoles, the game works fine as a PS4 format but being a PS5 version would be much better.

I remember when TSO (the sims online) came out... I played it for soooo long, until they took it away. I'm thinking, based on all the info I've read, seen, heard (from Satch, as well as others - like Whiny Brit/etc.,) is that the mutliplayer will be similar to TSO, except it's going to be featured heavily on getting together with other simmers and being able to either go to each other's worlds, or a specific one/etc. IMO, the world wasn't ready yet for something like TSO. People still didn't get too big into playing online games, and the technology was no where close to where it is now. The ability to do so much with mods/cc is absolutely crazy (in such a good way lol) and it's very popular, whereas when TSO came out, there wasn't nearly the amount of, well, everything, that there is now to power it to where it could have gone. I hope the multiplayer is similar to TSO. It's time that that aspect of it shines through.

3:33 yeah the solution is know who you’re buying from. which incentivises you to buy bc you know the hardworking ppl behind it. mods have been paid in the past, or behind patreons. i love the marketplace as it gives me an easier way to directly support the developers i like. it’s not hidden and out of the way like a donations page so yeah i’m fine with paid mods as long as you know who it is. and back to marketplace, pretty sure they’re meant to make it as complete as possible to do as few causes as possible

I have 3.5 weeks left til I can start on my custom medieval world for Life By You. I haven't touched Sims 4 in ages, but still keep up with the news hoping they will do something worthwhile that will make me feel like I didn't waste hundreds of dollars on their packs. But then I see that the bugs still aren't fixed while they continue to push out content, and shake my head in disappointment instead.

I've noticed that on curseforge app some of the mods would say early access and then the link send you to the moder website to pay a monthly subscription but I'm like wtf I have this mod why would I pay them when I installed it free and after a week or so they take the option off pay for monthly mods then aging they do same thing so I wonder they make us pay for it now

Farming Simulator has a marketplace in which you can find free user created content (even on consoles). 🤓 The only downside is that they have limited of how many slots the mods can take up on consoles. It surprised me when on PC I was able to install as many FS mods as I would like to. The store is moderated by the games' developer GIANTS Software, and on PC, the mods outside the store might have some insufficiencies, e.g. incorrect logos or inadequate information for the equipment, and brand names are spelt in many ways (Mercedes or MERCEDES). I haven't played FS22 for a year because those other mods have messed it up and I would have to edit & fix them by myself instead. I rather play The Sims... 😅

Just recently started playing TS4, bought like 4 expansion and 3 packs and none of them function as they should. The fun I get =is almost entirely thanks to mods - thats where the true creative and talented mines are when it comes to this game. I would pay full expansion price for mods like Wicked, Basemental, but only if all the money goes to the creator. EA dont deserve a penny unless they actually fix some stuff. Some... at least.

As a console player... I'm already paying for every kit because I don't have access to cc... so I'd pay for cc. It really just depends on the price point

Console player here, yes I would be fine with that. Mods and CC look so much better than packs and I frequently wish I could buy player made mods instead of packs to expand the game (obviously it would be better if it was free but still)

At this point their just trying to set a new record fpr most expensive video game in the world. I've fallen so far behind in the packs for this thing I gave up and I just play with the ones I have plus cc lol.

After researching on how the market works and how one actually gets famous, and the current state of the industry we know now... I am starting to hold suspicion and skepticism over the developers behind it. It's as if EA is holding them at gunpoint to crunch and get the updates out for... well, profit purposes. And for the mods, to see the back-end programming break, and then the creator may have left the community or just went hiatus for who knows how long, is stressful. And for a solo developer, you NEED a big refresher on how the programming works again, and then see what changed. I am not gonna be surprised if it breaks the whole game. *_It's come to the point that seeing EA and Ubisoft recruiting for "senior-level" recruits makes me wonder... How do the experts tolerate such a broken system?_*

I understand why I should pay for some mods when it comes to clothing or furniture, but I use some mods to fix bugs or annoying things in the game and I certainly won't pay for that if the game is otherwise unplayable. Fix your game Sims 4 Team or let it die because I won't spend a cent more on it the way it is now.😡
