By God is this true. I also get that after a day of nothing, I just settle to hope for a better tomorrow. I give up before the day is over, when I still can save it. That's the last temptation of the day, "you've already wasted it, why bother? Tomorrow you'll have renewed energy." Tomorrow you'll probably feel exactly like you feel now. Get behind us, Satan! I am working as flight attend, it's very hard to keep a routine for me. What exactly should I practice to overcome laziness? I feel lonely sometimes, want to become saint but don't know how. I have a mission from God to heal souls but I don't know in what particular way. I want to accomplish what I am born to do. My only interest is in spiritual life, practical things are somewhat painful, they are meaningless to me, I have no interest in them, but I push myself to do it. i think it was Kierkegaard who said "the saint is that person who remains focused on one thing". obviously this is referring to God. and it pairs really well with "the saint becomes themself". my takeaway is that by focusing on God, the one Being, we are also participating in Being. and the only way to be, is to be Good. so everything that takes from our focus on God, also takes from our ability to be. and that is sloth: the refusal to be.

I second a comment made by another person about differentiating between psychological depression and sloth. Is there a difference? If so, are you still committing the sin of sloth if you've been diagnosed with clinical depression? This is very confusing, and it also overlaps with Ignatian teaching on spiritual desolation. Is it a bad spirit of sloth that I have to somehow find the strength to reject, or a bonifide genetic illness like depression for which I have zero strength to fight at times?
@kimfleury3 жыл бұрын
If I may suggest, look into your will - that is, consider what you want. I think it is so difficult to distinguish between spiritual sloth and physical depression as a bio-chemical disorder, that psychologists don't always differentiate between them. Of course, a secular psychologist won't even consider spiritual sloth as a possibility. However, if your will is to follow the will of God, then simply ask Him to remove negative spiritual aspects of your disorder, then trust that He will, and just do your best to manage your physical condition. I think if you do that, and if it turns out that it's all spiritual warfare, then you have fought the battle. Fighting the battle gives glory to God. 🙏🏻📿 You're permanently in my prayers ✝️

In short, you don't worship the Father, you worship the Trinity of Time, Money and Power, while turning your back on poor. Ezekiel 34:7-10 7 “‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8 As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock, 9 therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock.
