Many of you will not remember, but this reminds me of "dark ages" of KZbin, because this song was glued together with almost every KZbin video in the "sinking ships genre" back in like 2007-2009. What a bizarre revival from Historic Travels! :D

Hahaha so the reason why i did this was because one of these videos showed up in my feed. I watched the video and thought, “I could do that better.” So I made this lol. It was just a fun mini project, made this in like 20 minutes and had a blast doing it. Lol

It was impossible to launch the lifeboats due to Lusitania's severe list. Only 6 of 48 lifeboats were launched. Lusitania sank in 18 minutes, 40 minutes faster then Brittanic

It was a combination of a severe list and the fact she sank in only 18 minutes. The Titanic, in contrast, didn't suffer a severe list and stayed afloat for nearly 3 hours.

I had a family member “Jacob Chadwick”that was working on the Lusitania he ended up being one of the last people to see the captain alive and he also got some medal for helping to guide passengers but idk what it was.

One of my favorite Nightwish songs, such a beautiful power ballad. Its so interesting to me how somehow this song has evolved over the years into becoming the "Sinking Ship Song" even though Tuomas Holopainen (Composer/Lyricist of Nightwish) originally wrote this song about an eclipse. Somehow it still works either way and now everytime I hear it all I think about is Lusitania, Titanic and Britannic.

The Lusitania shows even having enough lifeboats for everyone sometimes doesn't cut it. Sometimes tragedy just happens. It's the way of life.

The sinking of the Empress of Ireland the previous already proved that. If a ship sinks too quickly, there simply isn't enough time to launch all the lifeboats, especially if the ship lists heavily to one side, which both the Lusitania and the Empress of Ireland did.

I'm pretty sure the Germans committed a war crime with this one. Lusitania may have had war contraband in her manifest but they were supposed to give passengers a chance to escape and get away before blowing a hole in her. This sinking was the last straw that pushed the Americans into the war and look where it landed the Central Powers. On the losing side and set in motion the wheels leading to the bigger, bloodier sequel about fifteen years later.

a war crime on the part of Germany in the WWI, although the Lusitania was carrying ammunition, the submarine should have fired warning shots with the deck gun, then boarded it and if it had ammunition, sunk it but first let the passengers and crew leave the ship safely as it was at the beginning of the WWI

I have a theory for this question, I think that the White Star Line, together with its president at the time, who survived the sinking of the Titanic and did not sink, with most men wanting to avoid this encounter with the Titanic's twin at the time because many there witnessed it. the sinking and if they saw their brother appearing suddenly this could make them go into a panic attack because if one had already sunk they would fear that the brother could also sink as it was made with the same materials and manufacturing parts which is why the captain of the carpathia preserved the survivors who were shaken by the death of their relatives who were lost on the titanic and the invitation was refused although the olympic in fact was trying to help him as history and records say

I am convinced that somewhere out there is a black and white silent movie about 20 seconds long that somebody filmed from the starboard side on board the Lusitania midship when it was struck by the torpedo. I had to see the impact the way the ship reacted to be absolutely certain that I have seen this video and it is out there somewhere. The huge wall of spray upward is accurate The ship first rocked to port and then listed hard to starboard. Someday in the future it will be "found" just like the video of babe Ruth pointing towards the dugout that ruined that piece of History. There is no piece of history for the Lusitania other than the fact that the film is an interesting view. And yes, people did clutter towards the railing to see the torpedo. Story my great-grandfather told me was that babe Ruth pointed towards a flagpole in center field and hit the flagpole with the ball. I call b***s*** on that urban legend. My great-grandfather was 42 years old on that day and he was just a gullable as everyone else was for that story. I happen to believe what Charlie Root said. "Anybody that knows Charlie Root would know that if any man had pointed towards the center field to hit a homerun he would have landed on his ass on the next pitch" Well said Mr Root. Well said 👍
