This is a band that swore their entire career, they were Metal! They weren't....what they were is possibly the best Goth band to come out of the New Wave...."X" clubs in the early to mid '80's This band, along with New Order, were the bands they coined the phrase "floorgasim'" about....to describe the crowds reaction to these guys hitting the turntable. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The irony... But then, fact is ANY band appearing on those "Top of the Pops" type shows are miming to the recorded version, and always were. I think the BBC once made the mistake of giving Johnny Rotten a live mike on a live show, but that was a rare and not-repeated mistake!

The last moments of a great band😢
@mccarthy58253 жыл бұрын
Eh no....they have had amazing moments since then. Songs like Summer, Romeo Down, We are the Same and recently But Genevive and Better Reptile... Some of the huge festival gigs in the 00s...the exceptionally good Silver Bulllet and XXX tours.... And if you are talking about recording then what about Under the Gun or Temple of Love 92?
@Albrecht7773 жыл бұрын
@@mccarthy5825 To be fair, "Temple of Love" was a re-recording of a song almost a decade old at that point, whilst the music to "Under the Gun" wasn't even written by Eldritch, but planned as a saccharine ballad. Even its B-side was a re-hashed version of "Alice" (although I adore it). Dylan seems - possibly - to have breathed new life into the band. I'll see how they are next year. However, at the time of writing, I still think that the last decent Sisters gig that I saw was at Brixton in 1993 (!).
@mccarthy58253 жыл бұрын
@@Albrecht777 oh yeah like wasn't UTG a different song called Two Worlds Apart or something... By some Billy fella... Cant remember now. I have to say though that Terri Nunn just 👌... I agree with you... Reading the live section of the site they have, apparently 20 new songs...who knows if we will hear them studio recorded. It irks me because just like Al Jourgensen, Von is a bit of a whiz in the studio and with the advances in software and stuff like Reason... He should be able to make Floodland quality stuff fairly easy. I'm 37 and got my first sisters album (ASCOO) in 1998 so didn't get to see them till 2006. But like 6 times since. Including in my hometown of Dublin where I met Von after the gig and got a very blurry photo. It was so unexpected and all I could say was 'you are the bomb' and he said 'I've been told before' 😂 I've actually got the old(classic) logo tattooed on back of my head and SISTERS in the font on my wrist. It blows my mind that he can maintain a fan base 30 years after releasing a 'new' record. To me technically the live video for We Are the Same Suzanne is the last 'official' thing he has done. Oh and yeah I did actually download the SSV album 😂 😂 😂 what were East West thinking! 😂 1993? Wow. You must be a bit of an OG! Unpopular opinion I know but I don't really like 'Wake' and I think the best material came after FALAA. also don't tell anyone but I do like the Mish and seen em live in 2002 with Rob Holliday on guitar. Have to say it was a lap of the 'hits' but it was really good! I used to go round the second hand record shops in the late 90s and pick up those fingerprint covered singles and eps by them for like an Irish pound each. I got the 12'' of Dominion with the poster still in it, a copy of Gift for like 2.50, Reptile House, Body Electric, Alice etc all dirt cheap. I will admit I prefer the re release of TOL. Rip Ofra, she added something to it. Are you planning on seeing any shows in 22? I usually go to the UK to see bands that dont play here, first was Manson in the MEN in 2001, i was in London for NIN when the 7/7 bombings happened (twice because of my accent I got accosted)...had to cancel a holiday to Portugal coz of Covid so itching for a holiday and a gig! Always happy to have a pint with a cool fan like yourself 👍

There was a system (rarely used) for wireless 🎸 guitars as far back as 1969. However, there were definitely people using some from onstage as far back as 1975. I can't remember when I first saw a live performance with 🎸 guitars that WEREN'T 🔌 plugged in, but I'm sure it was way before 1991. Speaking of Shure, they invented a wireless 🎤🎙️ microphone way back in 1953 (that's even before my time!!!).
