Er, this is a little awkward, but Speed is slang in English for Meth Amphetamine. The Sisters have had a long relationship with this substance. Andrew actually sings about this in many (some say all) of his songs.

I love the Sisters, but this right here is why I stopped going to SoM shows- granted, the setlists have been stellar, playing gems like Teachers and On the Wire, but they should not be rewarded for milking the legacy. Stop going to gigs and force them to release something new. Or maybe not... fans these days will just bitch about how not old style SoM the new music is.

It sucks when your from some small place in the world and can't get to a show. Albums make it possible to hear good sounding music. I wish they would put out a new disc here and there at least of their live show's so you don't just have these camera phone clips. Wish I could get a good clip of war on drugs, love that song!!

see, you stop speed, drink to much beer and it's bloated villa. It's not his fault, he fucked up his metabolism doing speed for all those years now he drinks a fucking lot in Germany. I'm glad there not still going on about getting a record deal, that was a boring part of the late nineties. He's got a great outlook.

He most likely stopped using illicit narcotics. Eldtritch is a master of deflection. He detests heroin and heroin users, but was taking speed (amphetamines) like I t was going out of style. The amount if songs about drugs by the Sisters are plentiful, if not boastful.
