Man. No words. Sublime has been with me through every moment since 1993 when I first heard their music. Now at 40, I pass the torch to my teen son. Nothing will ever be like this band - the time they emerged, the lack of technology, the love of pure music, the need for different music......and Bradley's soul. We are blessed to have the lyrics live on and I cannot wait to see the documentary.
@jtstonewallaggieclassof20054 жыл бұрын
I feel the same way! Speechless, love Sublime, same age, discovered them around the same time, saw them once live, and miss them (As they ONLY existed with Bradley) and that era of music without all of the digital music programs, drum machines, no "auto-tune" and digital voice enhancement, MTV still played music with the exception of a few things like "This Week In Rock", and you knew something sad happened when the music would break and "MTV News Updates w/ Kurt Loder" would appear (I still remember him announcing Kurt's death), music programming with "Alternative Nation" with Kennedy, "Yo! MTV Raps", "Dial MTV", and a few shows like the one with Julie, Beavis & Butthead, and then "Singled Out" with the before she went nuts and was still banging hot Jenny McCarthy, "The Real World", and then around the time Bradley died (the beginning of summer in 1996) was about the same time I stopped watching. Music isn't the same. Artists like Bradley, Kurt, Rivers Cuomo, Chris Cornell, Beck, the Gallagher brothers, Black Francis/The Pixies, Thom Yorke, and even Lisa Loeb, Gwen, her brother & No Doubt, Fiona Apple, and yes even Veruca Salt (Have to show some of the ladies from those days a lil love) were ORIGINAL! They found their own musical style, tone, rhythm, sound, etc. Today, everything is canned or jarred in a factory for mass distribution. You don't have the experience of seeing a new video on MTV, hearing a rad jam on the radio and waiting until the DJ announced they would play it so you could record it. Going to the record store, making mix tapes, buying bootleg show cassettes and if you were lucky a VHS bootleg someone got of a rare show. Those were the days. I'm a professor of history now, and never got married. I teach my nieces and nephews about the music of our youth and my college students (ugh Millennials!). We're the last ambassadors of Generation X, man! Good job for introducing Bradley and Sublime along with other music from our era to your son, so great music lives on! RIP Bradley! Cheers Mate!

Bradley's baby boy Jakob is 28 now, and is filling his daddy's shoes right now. Go check it out. Sublime is Back. Brad left us all a wonderful Jake, and Jake is KILLING IT! It keeps giving me goosebumps and tears of joy. Jakob never got to talk to his father. This young man sings through his soul just like his dad did and he really only knows as much as we all know about his dad. He's probably only got a few VHS tapes of him an Brad together. Go right now and listen to 2023-2024 LIVE Sublime. Jakob is a strong man now. Been through it all. And singing through his soul with a real message that will bring change to this world for the better

12:45 I appreciate Troy's honest, that right there sounds like something my friends would say if I were to have killed myself (or OD'd) and kinda makes it "valid" to do so in a way because I'm at a point in life where I'm just so mentally exhausted to where I'm losing a life long battle and no matter what I do, I fall under crippling depression again and again to the point where nothing else is working anymore and I've tried pretty much everything I could. Ever since I heard this it has made me think, is this my fate? Will I stop fighting like Kurt and Brad did because they just couldn't take it anymore no matter how hard I've tried? RIP Bradley..
