It is important that Joel mentioned "Why Biological Diversity is important". That message needs to be emphasised over and over, because most people think everything is all right without thinking too far ahead or outside their experience. The third point about human spirit and intellect is often ridiculed by many people divorced from nature. Living in megacities and fearful of insects, birds, reptiles etc. Diversity does matter, thank you AMNH for the video.

A true understanding of the scope of the problem is the first step on the path to true panic.

people hearing and not listening I live in a developed country, and half the populations seems to be unable to grasp the concept of recycling. putting garbage in the right bin should be easy one would think... Even worse is at universities, there are only two bins, one for recycling and other for wet garbage. if you lift the lid you can't tell the difference by the stuff inside. and that suppose to be our next generation....

It's unprecedented because it's human caused, genius.

Thank you Joel, you make a unbiased, scientific, statistical fact filled argument to reduce the human impact on the planet. It seems to me that the evidence points to the requirement to reduce the human footprint. If recycling or conservation is not sufficient, then it is inevitable that we take politically incorrect actions like restricting population growth.

Promoting why we should go plant-based would help a lot the planet. Unfortunately, this is almost never a topic. We can control what we eat, everyday and this has a big environmental impact. We vote everytime we eat and most of us don't realize that. Don't wait for governments to wake up. So go plant-based or vegan if you care about animals/wildlife and ethics.
