What's incredible about this story is they pretty much tell you in everyway possible that he's dead. Yet you never pick up on it until they pretty much just straight tell you he is. The way they put him in every situation where your mind just writes off an excuse of why something is happening is incredible, and to write a story in such a way is genius.

The thing about this movie is that it packs THREE emotional wallops in a row, right at the end: Cole and Malcolm saying goodbye, Cole telling his Mom about ghosts (and her believing him), and THEN finding out about Malcolm. Any one of those is a bigger emotional impact than any other movie I can think of, practically. But three? People remember the scares, and think of The Sixth Sense as a ghost movie. But it's those huge emotional moments that make it one of the greatest movies ever made. I get tears every time I rewatch it.

I love that the whole first 3/4 of the film are spent making you understand how Cole feels, how he's afraid all the time. In particularly, I love the moment when he pulls the blanket off Kyra, and instead of a monster or a jump scare, it's a frightened little girl. The viewer starts to change perspective, along with Cole

Six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, and Best Supporting Actor for Haley Joel Osment. Second youngest nominee ever. Great reaction to one of my Top 5 favorite movies of all time. It stands up to rewatches because it's beautiful. First time I saw it was in a sneak preview screening a week before it was released. Had no idea what to expect. I loved every minuted of it. The moment when the ring dropped, you could hear whispers of "Oh my God" popping up everywhere in the sold-out theater as people figured out what was happening. After it was over, at least half of the crowd lingered, looking around at their fellow movie-goers. Total strangers struck up conversations. No one was in a hurry to get out. We were processing, blissful, satisfied, delighted. It remained the # 1 movie at the box office for weeks, based on enthusiastic, but very-guarded word of mouth. People kept the twist secret. It was amazing. A true cultural phenomenon at the time.

Great reaction, I think that the trust between Malcolm and Cole were established in the very first scene in the church, I think Cole had not expected to see a ghost inside of the church, because that’s a sacred place for Cole throughout the movie, so when Malcolm shows up in the church, Cole felt that this ghost were different and a bond between them were made in that scene…

People who saw the movie were telling everyone they had to go see it but would not give even the slight hint what the movies was about. I remember going a second time to watch it just to see the reaction of the crowd. Even to this day it still has that punch. And thank the two of you for giving back such a great reaction. You both were spot on to the original theatre reaction for first time viewers. Love it!

Another thing. Ever watch any ghost hunter shows? There is this thing called "EVP" - electronic voice phenomenon. Ghost hunters ask a question with a recorder going and ask a question. They hear no response, but when they play back the tape, they hear an answer on the recording that they couldn't hear directly with their ears. So that is what happened when he listened to the recorder. But did the ghost doctor actually turn on the recorder? Someone mentioned something I hadn't thought of. Why was the table in front of the door to the basement? If the doctor had been going up and down the stairs through the door, the wife probably kept finding the door open or heard it opening and closing so she put a table against it.

I'm not even gonna lie, this movie scared the CCCCRAPP out of me 1st time I saw it! 😬😬😬 but the plot twist at the end was one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, I've ever seen!🤯 nobody that I've ever talked to ever guessed the ending either. Bravo to your reaction, Asia and BJ!!👏👏👏👏👏💕

A great movie and reaction. Asia could feel the mom's pain wanting to help her kid. Remember, Cole helped Malcom by telling him to talk to his wife in her sleep. So Cole has learned to help the little poisoned girl, and Malcom.

...Which is why when Malcolm and Cole have their first interaction, Cole runs away from him, speeding up when Malcolm follows, and heading into the church for safety. The doctor Cole's mom speaks with and who, she realizes, thinks maybe she's abusing him, is M. Night Shyamalan (the writer and director of this film). The famous director, Alfred Hitchcock, used to show up in his films for little cameos, too. Haley Joel Osment received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. So well deserved. I love this movie. I don't usually go for films about the supernatural because there's so much truely dark stuff out there, but this one's different. I was so glad when i saw that you guys were reacting to this, because i really like you both and i appreciate the respect you approach films with. Please keep picking the good ones and sharing with us. Peace -

Bruce and Haley Joel were great. Haley Joel Osment was nominated for Best Supporting Actor and Toni Collette (the mom) for Best Supporting Actress. I saw this in the theater and I’m also from Philly. When I tell you Toni was EXACTLY somebody’s mom from Philly, I kid you not - the voice, the mannerisms, everything. I grew up around women just like that. And Toni Collette is Australian. I’d seen her in ‘Muriel’s Wedding’, an Australian movie; I t’s hard to believe she’s even the same actress.

I saw this on opening night and I was like you two. I was wondering why he never spoke to Cole's mother or the Doctor when he was talking about Cole being abused, or why his wife was never talking to him. This was Haley Joel at his best. He was nominated for an Oscar, but didn't win. He was robbed. If you haven't seen Forest Gump, Haley Joel plays young Forrest at the end. He was such a good actor as a child.

Imagine being in the movie theater packed with people and the oxygen gets totally sucked out of the room when the twist happens! I´ve never been inside a more silent theater in my life. People were just amazed and couldn´t believed what just happened. I went to see this movie 5 times back then just to experience the twist moment with different audiences. And people were cool keeping the secret outside. Nobody created any spoilers or anything. People were just telling friends to go see it too. It was awesome.

Glad you guys enjoyed this. M. Night Shyamalan is an amazing director. "Signs" is an excellent movie about an alien invasion starring Mel Gibson. Also, Bruce Willis starred in another of his films, with Samuel Jackson called "Unbreakable". Another great film with another good twist at the end. Enjoyed the reaction. The list of brilliant movies that bring about a total range of emotions from the viewer is relatively small, but this one is definitely a major title on that list. @YT you are correct if you're talking about the fictional band (Munchausen By Proxy in the 2008 movie 'Yes Man) *Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a mental illness and a form of child abuse.
