I met him and his wife and was his keys tech for a CIEL benefit here many years ago, & got his autograph on the inside of the back panel of my B-3. He was the nicest guy, even with everyone pulling on him all day. Then he recognized me at the Summer NAMM show later that year as he and Amy were walking by & said hello. Great piece. Micheal McDonald singing backup on Christopher Cross songs simply cements that he is the official godfather and inventor of our beloved term 'yaught rock'. You can't find a better crossover until McDonald graciously does a bit on Fallon called something like 'three Michael McDonalds'. That wasn't a yaught. That was a suez canal shipper, too great for even the Panama canal. God bless you, Michael McDonald, you are an American treasure!

A band I was in had a gig playing dozens of corporate parties at a banquet facility one December. These would be Thursday through Sunday, and they had other events, during the week, so we'd load out on Sunday night and load back in Thursday. The lead singer and I would pass the load-out time singing Christmas songs in a Michael McDonald impression. One example was, in the tempo and feel of What A Fool Believes, "Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree...". Dunno about anyone else, but we had a blast.
