PvP is just so much better now. It feels like the recoil changes have totally revitalised the game. You can actually get kills without spending 500k roubles on a rifle now. I'm loving the OP-SKS.

you don't actually need the canted sight, you can use the ACRO sight with the riser and it is just visible perfectly above the PSO scope, been working a dream for me

The 136 exists though. The only real reason to take the sks is either for pocket loading or going cheap dmr with the pso scope very early on.

Also, if you are willing to sped a tad more money and have Jager level 2 you can leave top front cover as default OP-SKS and put SOCOM hand rail there. It works with TAPCO builds and will allow you to use a foregrip and a tactical device and front canted sight. Not to mention, that now there is more alternatives to a dovevtail mount. Explore.

I don't know if I'm skipping something or what, but I think the barter op-sks with the UAS chassis is much more efficient (ergo and recoil) and cheap than the TAPCO build shown, being already modded so you just need to put a silencer, laser and a sight if you want, costing in total about 100k or less. Pretty strong build for the price.

My problem with the SKS is that the vpo136 exists, has cheap 30 round mags and is way more ergonomic. And because the mags are so cheap and the 20 rounders on PK are 10k each the book wins out price wise as well. But my absolute go to this wipe has been the aksu with PP ammo. Lvl 25 now and I am still regularly running it and killing people with it.

I'm saddened to not see a mention of the original SKS ghetto DMR build: Tapco furniture, KAC foregrip, GL-Core stock, Kobra red-dot on the gas block and a PSO scope.

It my first time back in like 3 wipes but they knocked it out of the park with recoil, armor, and the new map. I always liked pvp and the new map plays like factory but actually has loot and looks great! Super fun ngl

It's easily the best wipe tarkov's ever had. They've somehow managed to satisfy both the gameplay-first *and* the realism-first crowds with this update. It's kind of miraculous actually.

New Recoil and Modeling fixed this gun and now I can see the target not this gun's big ass dust cover. Also new bullet reload(fast as svt) and mag reload(first Iraqi reload in eft!) animation is clean and quicker than before!

I used to be on the sks hype train back when ps was as available from the rip. Unfortunately with ammo changes and many full auto guns having no recoil, I feel it’s lost its place a bit

I dunno man, SP and FMJ rounds have been working very well for me so far. If you slip shots around the plate / against class 3 armor it's surprisingly effective! Also there is always the almighty headshot!

@@SwissMarksman Yeah, kinda crazy how BSG put it in level 3 trader. But it's really a common ammo and you can find plenty of them outside, and it's strong enough to pen helm 4 easily, which is what we are using this gun for, Head-eyes those damn chads.

I don’t agree that it is a “early wipe” gun. I think it is an amazing gun that just requires a different playstyle. It requires you to be good at positioning and requires good sim to be used effectively. This wipe is amazing because now all guns are extremely viable if you have good sim and positioning. Now the person that wins is not the one that can grind and have the best attachments, but it is the person with better skills

The point of the dovetail mount being sold out until about a week into wipe means to me this gun is kinda useless because by that point most people will have better options

Nah, red dot on the front is a great contender. Especially with the ammo changes having this be one of the best early game ammo options.

only options under 20k are pistols, double barrel, toz, vpo-215 and saiga-9. I'd honestly put 5k more into your gun and buy a pp-19 or aks-74u which are much, much more serviceable, even stock

@@retronax4346 Agreed. I've always been a fan of the pp-19 early wipe. Its cheap and effective if you know its engagement profile and stick to it. Most people die to 'shit guns' cause they use them in situations that don't play to the weapons strengths and end up in its weakness. Easier said then done cause sometimes your just in the wrong place at the wrong time, but falling back and disengaging a fight is better then taking a fight with a gun that heavily out preforms the circumstances.

The devs have fukked all players but the high level streamers (their favourite customers) for a long time creating this stupid artificial grind and pain. Now all of a sudden they've realised people have been walking away from EFT over the years because of this senseless fukking and grind. With the new patch, EFT is more what it should have been years ago. Let's see how long this lasts. Bsg has a rich history of listening only to the streaming community, not the players, and if the streamers don't like these changes you can kiss them goodbye. Also, what's with the unrealistic BS still after ?7 years - scavs shrugging off 7.62mm like it's just bee stings? No blunt force trauma? Still superman parkour jumping and movement?

probably because it costs less? and all you need for it is a 1k ruble mount to put a sight on it. dont need to wear armor if I dont want to or can use an armor rig seeing how i can top load the SKS and dont need room for mags. MOA is better. people are also less likely to look my SKS vs a decked out VPO or AK. youve obviously new to Tarkov lol. SKS has been goated for years - especially with PS ammo early wipe.

Yea that guy got lucky finding a lvl 5 gzhel armor this early into the wipe cause not many people have ammo that can penetrate that armor this early in the wipe haha that dude was tank'n!
