We all love to play a stealth archer in Skyrim, but let's plan it instead of just letting it happen! The Deathweaver build is fragile but deadly so stealth is 100% the priority. You'll have invisibility due to the Bow of Shadows BUT as you get better you can use some more of a charge-in Legolas style trick-shot playstyle! The Deathweaver is not to be seen, she is the cold hands you don’t see coming, and if she is glimpsed, she stings with unparalleled speed, only to vanish once more and strike again from the shadows while you sleep!

Just started a region locked playthrough in Solstheim. Archery is part of the plan, but not Stealth. Currently level Seven with my primary skills being: Enchanting, Speech, One handed, Archery, Light armor, and Restoration. Probably going to throw in some Smithing, as well. Guess I'll see how long I can go without stealth. I should also mention that I have a few mods, mostly quality of life stuff like fixing soulgem stacking and a neater inventory, but the legendary skills system has been changed to up the maximum skill ceiling to 500 by changing the first perk in each tree to unlock a new rank each time the skill gets reset, and provide an effect that fortifies the skill by 100. There's also a mod called You Are Not Special, which sets minimum skill levels to 1. Testing confirms they work together, so each skill level after 1 is earned. Aside from those, I've got a mod that removes leveled uniques in favour of the strongest version available, and another that essentially just adds extra rolls to randomized loot. Interesting note here, but you have to be level 15 in Smithing to be able to improve weapons and armor.

I usually end up playing so much that I literally could switch builds by just equipping different gear and doing different things. Take me about 5 minutes and I could go from stealth archer to 2hand restoration conjurist. Only thing I can't change is the race, but no matter what race I pick I don't rely on any racial abilities so it doesn't much matter.

Stealth dagger is more OP than Stealth Archer. Literally One shot on everything, and you dont even need to over-improve your weapons for it.

​​@@lordgaledron6969 My character is lvl 100 in bow, one handed and sneak. Sometimes I can't even one shoot kill a bandit chief with sneak bow, but I can one hit kill most enemies with sneak dagger. If you have the Apocalypse Magic mod you can use ghostwalk spell to hit and run, it helps to clean entire dungeons without being detected.

I have no armor type, no weapon preference, no spell school preference, no true class.... I just simple go in and kick there arse. I shot an archer on watch, move in fast, I hide my self with a fast spell, sneak in with a dagger, for kill two, I find the next guy in a chair and break it with a battle axe, the next guy runs right into shout distance and get some air time till he hits a wall. The next group try to come through a doorway in two, and get barbecued, someone tries to sneak up on me and gets slashed, as I'm walking out and want to flex, I drop an arrow, pull a Yondu, telekinetic grasp 👊 😎.... I have to admit, only one of my characters is a stealth archer. It just is not fun for me. I do enjoy the heavily armoured knight with a two-handed weapon (or dual wielding) far more. Or even a mage. Come to think of it, I'm currently thinking about a new character who uses Illusion magic and the Bound Bow spell. But currently I am far too deep in Fallout 4 to start a new Skyrim character.

One of my favorite moments in skyrim was my first playthrough after getting it on PC and doing a stealth archer build with some mods. One of them gave Kajiit a pounce ability so I could straight up jump up on to the walls of a stormcloak fort and start wrecking house.

I've actually never done an archer playthrough. If I'm going to sneak around I'd rather feel my heart pumping as I inch closer to my own death, only to be rewarded with the warmth of their blood. Sniping just feels hollow and cheap. Like a CoD player. Still, couldn't hurt to try. Specially If I give it a bosmer native american vibe.

Playing with mods that make stealth (and just the game mechanics in general) better is a must. Ideally a stealth archer should be a glass cannon constantly on edge worrying about detection, high risk, high reward. Add in abilities like alchemy or the ability to make and place traps and it becomes arguably the most fun way to play.

This is a fun build but I like to play it a little differently: without the stealth; I don't know if its possible in vanilla, but with the Ordinator mod I managed to make a mystic archer Dunmer who summons a bow and one shots most enemies while running towards them. Perks to improve bound weapons, increase rate of fire with bows and move at full speed while drawing the bow. It's all about speed and manoeuvring. Add some poisons for extra flare.

Then also pinch in (which should be a no brainer) the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, which eradicates all the exploits you can do to obtain 9+ million damage or 9+ million damage resistance.

​@@kamixakadio2441 its time to add mods that slow down exp rates, make the economy less fruitful, make enemy ai better, and stamina more punishing. Stop using things that you know are broken like enchanting, alchemy for money, sneaking, min maxing in general. I once roleplayed an orc that could only smith what he mined himself and i couldnt use anything requiring intellect (no potion making no enchanting no speech or theify type stuff). Just brutal kill or be killed life. It was easily the funnest and most memorable playthrough ive ever done. For added roleplaying dont do dragonborn story at all, theres no reason a nobody should be downing dragons.

As crazy as it may sound, the closest I've ever come to a stealth archer was a dark brotherhood heavy armor assassin. He toted the sithis armor mod and was toting two handed, archery, heavy armor and alchemy/sneak. It was extremely satisfying to observe an area, down a potion or two, slip up to a vantage point unseen and then loose a few arrows before drawing steel and finishing them off with poisonous brutality.🤌

I love when it all comes together and the sandbox really opens up. Personally ive always been charmed by how funny the enemy perspective of a illusion summoner attack would be. I sneak in, silent cast a dremora lord in their fireplace, then silent cast invisibility and watch the chaos ensue. Add frenzy as nessecary. Good for laughs, and deadly effective

Thats how i started playing skyrim more... well roleplay-ish? I've started as a Twohanded Warrior which i didnt like to be quite fair. Then i started a new Character a female Bosmer. She wore Leather armor and wielded a Imperialbow and used Iron Arrows to hunt some Animals. After some Time the Hunt on Animals was soooo boring i started to obliterate whole bandit camps. I've yet to ever play a stealth archer, I sometimes start a fight with an arrow or two, but it's never the full fight

Surprisingly, I've never played stealth archer. My current playthrough is a tank. Heavy armour, warhammer Also with a crossbow

I don't like playing Stealth or Archers. I don't mind doing a bit of it but in the end I will always be a Mage first a warrior second and most of the time some mix of the two involving necromancy.

Thank you for saying this! Honestly only playthrough I've done that I've enjoyed playing stealth was a vampire argonian assassin using a dagger. Using stealth with archery just feels too boring to homestly be worth doing
