The slammed C10 left me stranded! Fixing Fuel delivery issues!

Well the old slammed C10 shop truck left me stranded on the side of a buddy highway! My wife had to pull me and Slow Poke Rodriguez home with her Jeep. Turns out we had been having problems for awhile but it finally got to a point that the truck would no longer run! The pickup and sending unit that were in the tank had a sock on the end that disintegrated and clogged the pickup line. So we had to pull the bed and change the fuel tank pickup. The power valve in the 2 barrel Holley 500cfm went bad at the same time. Before we figured all that out I tried messing with the carb and also changed the fuel pump on the 350ci sbc mr goodwrench crate motor. I took a break from the shop and went on a trip to ga to buy some equipment for the shop. Got a 36” box and pan brake that will do 16 guage sheet metal. Also a stomp shear with the same capacity and a really cool manual punch. Also got some high bay LED lights to put in the shop. Got to build a puke tank and modify a methanol tank for my buddy Dan ‪@TheDanCamKZbinChannel‬ twin turbo no prep Vega! That things gonna be so nasty with a twin turbo 5.3 LS and a power glide!

Nice job on the frame Major👍 it's good to see the C10 running so nicely, if you want so far from me I'd ask how much you want for it, rust free trucks here in New England are unobtainium, at least for an affordable price. Happy Easter to you as well! We are very excited to have the tools for sure! We have needed them for a few years now but have been trying to find decent ones that I could afford. I’m sure that vega is going to be a rocket ship! Dad’s definitely been a ton of help with paint on the frame he’s doing a great job! The old c10 isn’t rust free but she’s close. Yeah I like that video. Now I've got lead on a vega. I think it's an early one but I don't recall it's like 500 800 bucks. But it's not too close to you and it's write it down low and the hood is messed up on the corners but there's no damage to the fenders are interested in the clip from the hood being bent up.

Thank you! No doubt those early Vegas are sweet but they’re bad about rotting! I’ve found one local since I made this video and I am hoping to go see it towards the end of this week. It’s a 71/72 Vega GT hatchback

@@323Fabrication okay I'm not sure but I think my reply was ate by the KZbin dog. You know what I'm saying. In short evening 305 or GMC 307 would make that little Vega move back in the day. Also I know there's fiberglass tilt early model style front clip over in texas. It takes me a little work done look it up for you see if he still has it and then just passed the info on to you if you're interested.

@@323Fabrication seems to me we used to use the four-speed that came in those cars. It would tear them up. You're not saving that much weight. For the cost. The iron Duke 4 cylinder is 375 pounds. Generic Chevy 350 is 575 pounds. A fully dress iron head with aluminum block LS is 560 to 580 pounds. With aluminum heads one weighs 540 to 560 pounds. Say there's the difference is the actual performance of the engine of course. But with a fully dressed Vega weighing in at 2300 lbs approximately. 300 horsepower mildly built small block versus the cost of an LS engine. You see what I'm getting at you can have a lot of fun for a lot less money. And all you got to do is call it old school. I bet you if you put a 283 in that Vega, it will still beat the ls off the line. I'm throwing out ideas. I'm not trying to tell you how to go about it. Besides I got a feeling your dad probably has a lot of ideas. Good ones too. Then you could spend the leftover money on something else.

@CAROLDDISCOVER-FINDER2525 the aluminum block aluminum head LS is the lighter combo I believe and LS motors are cheap and cheap to make more power with. I can build a ls1 5.7 and make 450 for less than 2k
