I love this video purely because it shows exactly what goes on in Lukes imagination, and it seems like a weird place but it really is beautiful and creative and unique, something only mastermind Luke Steele could create :)

I’m very sure I heard this song playing on bayFM sometime in my childhood (2007-2012, born in ‘00) whilst driving through the sunny humid rolling hills of Byron shire (Bangalow, goonengerry, Mullumbimby...) and it really seems to distill the spirit of the community that existed there at that time (hippy/ethereal/airy-y & a bit bluegrass/country), which sadly (much like California after the 60s) seems to have mostly died or been diluted by sterile rich folks moving in. I’m so glad I found this song, it will always be where I will go for some nostalgia of that beautiful time, thanks so much for making it luke! ❤️

I was born in the great year of '04, my family used to own a holiday house within the Byron Bay area. We used to have a specific playlist of songs that was burnt to a CD and we would listen to it on the drive from the Sunshine Coast to Byron Bay. This amazing song was present amid the collection of handpicked masterpieces on the CD. I have clear and distinct memories of listening to this song while gazing out at the Byron Bay hinterland. It brings me so much joy to know that this unique and niche experience has been shared by another person. Learning that a nostalgic song I deeply cherished is equally loved by others brings me great appreciation for others. This is such a unique feeling.

HA! I was born in 1983 and I used to listen to this song on Triple J in the late 90s in my late teens. It's so strange to hear someone relating to this song from a different part of the country from a totally different time... I hear you about the dying culture, though. I used to love traveling to northern NSW in my childhood with my dad. The place was totally different then.

I'm surprised you didn't get the 'Ticket to Ride' ode at the end of the song. I also loved the George Harrison-like guitar parts. Obviously a big Beatles fan growing up, as most of us are. cheers

The first time I listened I got the impression that I had heard this before... I spent a long time trying to find out, until I realized that it has the same riff of Valentine's Day of David Bowie with a different vibe...

@omeyegod9 Also, if you start the singing of both songs at the same time, it sounds REALLY cool. Eventually it turns into chaos, and I can't say that it ever matches up again, but it sounds like REALLY good chaos!!!!!
