Great advice. Pace is hugely important! Two sayings: • Too soon Too Ripe Too Rotten. • Dating = Data collection.

Hope you had a great trip Susan ! Your advice is so logical, I think a lot of us are getting the information we should have got when we were kids but many of our parents didn't know either. I hope slowly slowly we can help each generation get a little bit better at relationships.

Maybe it will be okay… sometimes you have to trust your feelings and your instincts. This bit of advice that I’ve given in the video is about people who leap far too quickly because we know too hot too soon is not a good starting point. If you were able to build the connection and the communication, you may be fine. Rooting for you.!!

Thank you Susan, as a person actively working on healing from CPTSD, I’ve come to realize the only way for me to have a healthy relationship is to take the slow approach so I don’t jump into the toxic patterns of the past falling for unavailable people, users and abusers and instead pace myself and date with structure and really seeing if this is a good fit for me instead of jumping into something and then trying to retro-fit the disfunction into something workable (which never works).

This came at the perfect timing. My bf and I made it official within two weeks we are three months in and he has done everything to show me he only wants a future with me. I’ve never met a secured man that allows me that space to relax and not deal with inconsistency. He gave me a promise ring for our 3 month anniversary. He talks daily about making me his wife. He wants to move in already. I love his transparency but I believe that I need to stand up for myself and needs and slow down. If he loves and wants me he will understand. I definitely don’t want to invest so much if me so soon.

That's way too soon for talking marriage. If he's not willing to wait, he's showing he's not healthy for you. Anything worth having is worth waiting for. This is a lesson Ive had to learn myself over the years of failed relationships.

The good old process of learning, acquiring info and know-how in communicating, and the precious iteration method which allows people to create common and correct neuropaths in order to reach a healthy synergy with the other person. Like learning mathematics and a new language :) that means a new planet.

So much mental anguish could have been avoided for me if I had a longer exploration period and paced my relationship, not decided to be exclusive so soon, and seen what my dating pool was like. (I was 19 and was yearning for love, any way I could get it)

I made the girl i was seeing wait 4+ months without giving an answer to what i wanted. She kept asking and also wanted me to come off the dating apps. During this time she sprung on me that she was in love with me too. This weekend just gone she ended things and now of course I want her and i feel awful, feels really painful.

Always worked and works for me like that but so far encountered only woman who wanted to move very fast and I had no nice experiences in life but great learning/insights. Now I no there's nothing wrong with be but this is a great quality of me wich stands out and projected me for not going into instable relationships. How good these woman are looking. I think a lot of handsome woman atract(ed) handsome men without these qualitys and I faced a lot of confused woman. As i'm highly intuïtive and stick to that ❤ And no i'm not perfect, I learned and it helped me releasing my mini-trauma's and examples everybody should be IN a relationship constantly and asap🙏 Thanks for another aknowledgement about this matter Susan. It's often the mothers who can and should learn their sons how to not get into fast and fickle relationships and set the healthy example. Be active as a parent in that. Thanks
