I think you explain him find8ng the Saber with how in clone wars the kyber crytals reveal themselves to the Padawans so maybe that stays throughout

I do agree the chase scene where Flea and the two henchmen are chasing a young Princess Leia is goofy but I think that’s done on purpose because Disney doesn’t want to make it too dark so they had to add some humor to it because it’s basically 3 creeps kidnapping a little girl so they didn’t want it to be super dark

for a prediction, its going to be vague and probably one that is certain to be true: I think there will be an event or events that will make us look at something that happens in the films--something that was previously an afterthought--in a totally different light. Like something happens between two characters and dialogue from the films becomes more meaningful, etc. That's the best prediction I can make; otherwise I'd just be shooting in the dark. I really enjoyed it. Some of the stuff with the kid Leia was a little cheesy but overall it was worthy of the Star Wars name and gave me the same sense of wonder and excitement that made me fall in love with this story and universe 30+ years ago.

Love the reviews and super excited for Obi-Wan! Couple questions I’d be curious you’re thoughts on: 1) do we know Filonis involvement? Thought it was weird his name wasn’t in the credits 2) If Luke was supposed to be hidden, why was he on Anakin’s home planet with the name Skywalker? Didn’t he believe his father died in the clone wars to start the original? 3) is it known what Vader was up to in the time between ROTS and this? And is there a chance they can duel or was the OG supposed to be their first rematch.

I think Obi-Wan will battle Vader or The Emperor, lose, and then finally qui-gon will show up as a force ghost and help guide him. Just like Yoda said to Obi-Wan that he had "training for him on tatooine"

I may be wrong, but Leia never actually meets Kenobi in New Hope? So she wouldn't need the Jedi memory wipe.

And thinking about it - when Luke rescues Leia from the prison cell and says, "I'm here with Ben Kenobi, Leia jumps up and says, "Ben Kenobi!?! Where is he!?!" So she know who he is.

Don’t forget her message in R2-D2. Obi wan kenobi, you’re our only hope. She must have had some sort of relationship with him. And they’re showing it in this series.

Im on the same boat as Clem! Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Loved what they did with Obi-Wan. I had more issues with some of the other characters. I like the concept of Reeva, but thought she was a bit much.. felt like the character was in another show sometimes. also Saftie's acting was weird...and a terrible kidnap chase scene! However, still super excited for the rest of season because I like the setup.

I disagree w Clem that TROS didn’t explore the “gray Jedi”. At the end of the movie Rey took the last name Skywalker. The Skywalker family history encompasses both extremes of the Force spectrum. I think she was implying that she was acknowledging all of the Skywalker’s, not just Luke and Leia. Love these recaps tho!
