Not a large settlement by any standards, it is still an important staging ground for residents and tourists alike to stock up on supplies before they make the long trip eastwards through the expansive glacial floodplains.

Great vid. Greetings from Wales, U.K. I am coming in my camper next June via Denmark ferry. Do you know if it's possible to surf-cast(fish) on the beach at Vik? Looks a good place when the waves are small.😀

Thanks! I'm not too sure if you can fish from the beach there, I've never seen anyone do it. It's honestly quite rare to have such a small swell there along the coast. If you're lucky next June you might be able to try it out!

It seems less people go to the south part of the Island than other spots.? I like less people...

The south is in fact the most popular part of the country, but most people don't venture further than Vik. So if you enjoy less people, then heading further east from Vik is a good option. Otherwise the northern parts of the country are usually less touristic. Hope that helps!
