I feel like Running's only mistake was not keeping a few vills collecting food and gold, like just a couple, maybe 3-4 tops. Then he could've added another 1-2 men at arms to his army to stop towers getting rushed. Also he didn't wall in his towers but I guess wood was an issue. Otherwise he played pretty flawlessly.

I appreciate Margougou going all the way to the end, that's been my biggest beef with this series, super cool idea and very fun to watch, but it seems like the players have tapped out early on a lot of them.

Even if the castle at the end somehow went up, it would have fallen to the villagers because he didn't have murder holes, and he had no resources to create anything. Monks would have been helpful, but Mayans don't get redemption, so they wouldn't be able to convert the towers. Even so, I still think monks would have been a better play. Yes, the wood would be costly, but so is stone. Gold was the most readily available resource, which means monks would be the easiest unit to create. But it pretty much was over as soon as Margougou tried to go fast castle while being rushed.

Yes, imagine staying in the game with one village and a castle totally without resources. 11 Honestly a monastery would be much cheaper and quicker (just buy 200 wood with some gold). I wonder what direction this game would go, if Margougou made a monastery after reaching Castle Age.

I does make sense, that we see so many towers, the amount of the map, even a single towers, percentage wise covers, is kinda insane, compared to a more normal map size

For those that don't know (because it RARELY comes up) if you lose 1 building before clicking, you need to rebuild it (or another age appropriate building) before clicking. So at 12:00, Margougou couldn't click up because he lacked 2 buildings

it's confusing, because for buildings that unlock other buildings (mill->farm, blacksmith->siege workshop, etc.) it doesn't matter if they were created then deleted. for aging up, you need to currently possess the buildings

It felt like Running had an insane advantage and then stagnated on literally every front for progression; no more military, no new vils, no eco that led to castle age or more vils and military.

Yes if you build a barracks and it gets destroyed you can build a stable, because it was up, but to age up you need the buildings up together at one point even if then they go down

The castle would not have changed anything. It has no murder holes, so the villagers could have taken it down in a matter of time. He had no ressources left, so no military possible, nor a TC. That race was already lost when he went full on stones.

Probably my fave small maps game yet. I still think small maps need to be a tad bit bigger because small maps will rarely go to castle or later ages cause you are always in the opponents backyard and always getting rushed etc.

The way custom map sizes work is they override the chosen map size. Haven't looked at the pack but probably just pick tiny
