Savage Llama I do hope in the future there will be a method to correct the causes of this condition in the womb using genetic engineering. Now it's also a moral and ethical dilemma of course. These kids as people of course are not mistakes or errors. They also teach the rest of us how to be humble and kind. Hearing Hannah say this I think should move us to find ways to alleviate their pain and correct for this condition and during the make other discoveries. I think Danny's dad has a very good grasp on the situation. Both loving and realistic. I think it's an important combination
@chainsawkitten37666 жыл бұрын
If you listen closely, she doesn’t say she is nothing. She answers “nothing” when the interviewer asks how tall she is, which is the same answer she has given to other questions. She is in a sulky mood, she is probably nervous about a stranger being in her room asking her questions, and doesn’t have the maturity at her age to deal with it. It’s the interviewer who responds with “you’re nothing?” and then Hannah agrees. It was a leading question. If you ask me, by the looks of her room, she is overindulged by her parents. They probably give her lots of stuff to try to make up for her condition. Not saying the poor kid shouldn’t be sad and angry about her life...but she seems a little bratty to me. I guess it’s hard for the parents of these kids to not be overprotective and do too much for them. I mean, why is Danny’s mother putting his socks and shoes on?? He can certainly do that himself.

I wish we could tell her that she is not "nothing" too. And that kids who reat her differently are either raised poorly and without manners, they are afraid of what they don't understand, or they MOST LIKELY have their own insecurities and pick on her to make themselves feel better. Iwish i could tell her that most of that goes away as you get older and people mature. That she will find herself and happiness with it. And lastly that there are droves of people out there that think she is a sweet "normal" little girl and would be a true friend to her if given the chance! 👍💖😇

I was so upset at this as well and particularly with her mother’s response to it. @limasmith53874 жыл бұрын
Yes I do agree, people who are short physically are not short intellectually nor emotionally but the interviewer treated them as if they were and as specimens in a laboratory. This is the default mindset of the godless Darwin/Evolution teachings (and I would say it is a religion) by calling them Primordial. There has never been nor are now such beings. God as the Creator in the Genesis account (Chapters 1,2) created the Earth, solar system , man and woman (in the Image of God) as a perfect creation. Sin entered when Adam and Eve disobeyed God's directives. With the sin of disobeying God, he (Adam Ch. 2:17) would die both physically and spiritually, an eternal separation from God. As a result of man's disobedience, man's body and mind and spirit began to degenerate. Murder- Anger- Cain, Pride-Nimrod , Lying tongue(Joseph's brothers), Proud Look (Pharoah of Moses' day) are outward examples of a deceptive heart ruling the life. The entire earth was affected. Adam, who named the animals , now had to kill for a blood sacrifice. Genesis 9:2 talks about the fear of man by the animals after the flood. What we need now is a real fear of God and His precepts. Jesus(Yeshua) had compassion for the blind, crippled, deaf/mute and even those of short stature- Zacchaeus as recorded in Luke CH. 19. These people interviewed are precious in the sight of God for they are made in the Image (spiritual image) of God. To them and to all, I say there is hope in Christ. There is no hope offered by the world. We have worth- real meaning, for Christ willingly went to the cross for all mankind(2 Peter 2:9). May we show the love of Christ to all the: rich,poor,tall,short,mean,nice people ; whoever we meet.

I was thinking Hannah should meet Danny. His positive personality is contagious. I can understand Hannah's mother's wishes. Most parents want better lives for their children, especially when the children are struggling, and many of us don't know how to bring it about. I think her mom was struggling herself to handle the special circumstances, but it must have turned around because Hannah ended up donating her kidney to her mom. I found a write up about her and she's doing pretty darn good these days. The signs of that sad little girl are gone from her face, replaced by a smile.

I get this, when the mother talked about society's expectations. I have mental health problems which were from birth : I'm high functioning autistic, and my parents were shamed that I did not measure up to the social expertise of related children. As the years went on, (I'm 57 now), they realised they loved me anyway. It was not their own shame about me they were responding to, but that of wider society. What the mother said on this subject was spot on. I wanted to give her a hug as she teared up.
