WATCH NEXT: How To Build A $1M Coaching Business In 12 Months Or Less
I’ve been in the online health niche for over 10 years now. I launched and scaled my previous health business and sold it profitably. Then I launched Healthpreneur which is already an 8 figure business, so if I say so myself, I know way more than the opportunist gurus in online health coaching niche to whom “helping health coaches'' means nothing but launching another website, setting up another lander and selling their useless advice to health practitioners and coaches who know nothing about marketing and client attraction.
After helping over 1,300 health coaches generate over $217million in collective revenue, I think I know how to start an online health coaching business profitably.
In this video, I’m going to summarize my 10 years of experience, blunders, successes, and all the lessons I learned while helping health coaches and practitioners like you. There are these 3 mistakes that almost every health coach makes when they go online and that you won’t like to make. And other than pointing out these errors, I’d also tell you what to do instead to immediately stand out from the crowd.
Ready?
So, mistake #1 is trying to help everyone. Most health coaches who are new to online coaching and want to start an online health coaching business come from the brick and mortar background. A brick and mortar clinic is, however, a whole different ball game. You cannot stop people from coming in and asking for help. Yet, you cannot help everyone when you run an online business. For starters, your marketing will suck because social media platforms reward you when you are a specialist and punish you when you are a generalist. For more detail on this, please watch the video.
Mistake #2 is undercharging. Undercharging is always bad - even when you run a brick and mortar practice, but it becomes worse online because you limit your earning potential. When it comes to your revenue potential online, there is no cap - at all. IF you do it the right way. But by undercharging, you basically limit that revenue potential and make more or less just as much as you were making from your brick and mortar business. For more detail on this, please watch the video.
And the third and last mistake.. mistake #3, is working 1:1. Again… why start an online health coaching business if you’re going to cling on to the same old, failed brick and mortar ways? When you trade time for money, do 1:1, you basically commit two cardinal sins. A. You choose exhaustion and burnout over freedom and flexibility. How’d you like having literally zero time for your family and hobbies? And B. You do a disservice to 100, 200, maybe 1000 other people you could help if you chose this “new” model that is the complete opposite to 1:1.
So, watch this video to understand what this better health coaching model is.

Thank you for this! Super insightful. I agree almost entirely. However, I believe that pricing too highly removes any chance of reaching those who are less financially capable. And, given the idea that my services are the best, I shouldn’t limit them to the wealthy. Of course, we gotta eat… we can’t just give our services away, but at a certain point we should consider our purpose. Are we aiming to maximize profit? Or are we aiming to inspire healthful behaviors regardless of economic status? Both are valid. It’s just a matter of choosing. Good luck everyone!!

The argument that clients are actually more involved when they have an online curriculum compared to 1:1 really hit home for me. Obviously they know their the ones who have to put in the work. I’ve given so much advice throughout my careers but once trainees leave the session that’s it for them.

I love your stuff Yuri, and I have a goal to listen to every single video. I plan on starting my health coaching business next year, because I have a great way to improve people's health which is better than 99 percent of health coaches ideas. I am also confident that my system works, so confident I wrote my own book about it, called "Cavemen Weren't Fat." It's an expose on how the government, corporations and media lie about health, and how to use evolutionary thought to improve our health and lose body fat. I have already tested my protocols on others and myself, and it works, especially for permanent fat loss. Thanks, I'll keep watching!

Looking for a business partner? I have the same ideas about nutrition as you. I was paleo for about 15 years and then about 3 years ago modified it to a animal-based diet with fruit and honey ala Paul Saladino MD. Any auto-immune condition (as well as other diseases of modernity) can be corrected with the SAME curriculum, so that opens it up to a much bigger pool of potential clients. Also, my wife is a Nurse Practitioner in Toronto, so that would be a great resource to have to tap into the mainstream system a bit for testing, acute conditions, etc. And, to top it off I recently learned the truth about proper exercise and how 99% of of the information regarding fitness and exercise is BS (imagine that, an industry based on lies to maximize profits and keep people from thriving). Proper nutrition combined with proper exercise is the true fountain of youth. Almost noone is offering this combination! The excercise that I follow people are great in that area but fall short on nutrition and visa versa.

@@NoKingsNoGodsOnlyMan Good to hear! I'm a long way from profitability. I'm not a fan of fruit and honey. I am actually an author, and I just wrote a book about evolutionary diets and obesity called Cavemen Werent' Fat, and I explain how I figured out that fructose is actually the main driver of obesity and diabetes. I have criticized Saladino on his stance on fruit. Fructose causes metabolic disease, so it's not smart too eat too much if any fruit, especially honey. Ancient Egyptians ate tons of honey, and had a lot of heart disease, obesity and diabetes, but I do agree that the carnivore diet is a great way to improve your health. I'm a 3-plus year carnivore dieter, without the fruit and honey.

@@ClassicJukeboxBand Ancient egyptians were definitely not on an evolutionary consistent diet as they relied heavily on grains and other substandard foods from agriculture. The ancient Egyptians primarily used two types of oils for cooking their food: olive oil and sesame oil. Olive oil was widely available and commonly used in Egyptian cuisine. It was extracted from the fruit of olive trees and had a mild flavor. Sesame oil, derived from sesame seeds, was also a popular choice. It had a distinct nutty taste and was used for various culinary purposes, including cooking and seasoning. These oils played a significant role in the ancient Egyptian diet, adding flavor and nutritional value to their meals. The honey wasn't the problem.

I know you can't talk serious things when someone has a weirdly zoomed in cat pfp, but anyways so do you think it is sustainable to build a coaching business around hiring highly qualified genuine mental health therapists into your business and making it a high priced business for online therapy?. OR do you think is the licensing business i.e. the "reputation' business better? which involves putting a shit ton of genuine content on every social media you can find, building that reputation, and then testing and taking a percent from local therapists for giving them a marketing sign that they are reputed as they've gone through 'xyz' company's training and are certified by them?? I have deeply thought about this, and I don't want to say what I believe is good because I do want your opinion on it.
