Owner of a 16 Springfield that I bought brand new in 16. Coming up on 60k miles. I will say that these motors are very strong. Bike runs as good as day one

A Matt paint job doesn’t make it a Dark Horse you guys have destroyed the mystique.

Correct! Not sure what mystique you're speaking of, but the Dark Horse title mostly comes from the blacked out accents and trim pieces, such as the exhaust, handle bars, motor, forks, etc... In recent years, all the Dark Horse thunderstroke models also feature the 116 motor as well (the Challenger has the 108 in the full lineup). They make gloss painted Dark Horse bikes too, such as the stealth gray Chief and Chieftain, or the crimson metallic Chieftain. The bike in this video is a Chieftain Dark Horse Icon In Burnt Orange Metallic Smoke. Hope that helps!
