The thing I like the most is how it introduces mechanics that aren't logic for the logic to depend on. So many logic games don't add room for creativity and just want you to balance AND, OR, NOT, etc. It's like, "How is this different every other game?" Blocked areas, "lids" on connections or buttons, Batteries that need to be charged, information like Text, LEDs, Charge Displays, etc. Good game design which keeps the puzzle solving active.
@Imarealzombi3 ай бұрын
Funny i feel the exact opposite way about it .to me not having to balance basic logic operators and instead using preexisting blocks removes the creativity and most of the puzzles end up feeling too linear for my taste
@XoIoRouge3 ай бұрын
@@ImarealzombiI'm talking about how this game finally makes logic PUZZLES and nearly every other game is just a redundant copy of Logic but not Puzzles. Your interests have been satiated. You, as the target audience, already have quite a few games in the "Steams" that allow you to express full creativity with logic gates. I, as the target audience, am bored from those games being the same as every other game in their genre. This game actually creates puzzles by introducing unique limitations like Lids and Timers.

It's interesting that they chose to not implement self-feeding loops, because those are used in certain memory cells & latches. The fact that real life logic runs on electric current helps.

Real life logic chips have an extra line-in for power, which is why an inverter can generate power from a 0 input, the power just comes from the in-line instead.

@@omegahaxors9-11 this. There's an absolute ton of games and simulations out there that are helpful tools for learning logic gates and how to use them, but gloss over how they work. A real logic gate has power and ground connections alongside logic inputs, because power doesn't appear out of or disappear into nowhere. I've tried to build them myself with Arduino breadboards and transistors, and I can tell you standard transistors do not normally work as a lot of people say they do. The majority of the videos I've seen on transistors say they only output power through the output leg if the input and control legs are both powered (like they're meant to be used as little and-gates), when what they really do is use the control leg to determine whether power from both legs combined can flow through the output leg (very useful for diverting power away from another location). Logic gates tend to be based around taking power from a source, and using logic inputs connected in from other gates to determine whether the current flows through a logic output or just straight to ground. For example, a not-gate uses a single transistor with the power and logic inputs wired into the input and control legs of the transistor (in that order), with the output leg connecting straight to ground, and the whole chip has a connection with extra resistance directly from the power input to the logic output. When you turn on the logic input to the gate, current flows into the control input of the transistor, opening up a shorter path from the power input to ground than out the logic output, which is promptly taken. TLDR: most games, simulations and even youtube videos out there covering how logic gates and transistors work oversimplify. When you start working with Arduino, you quickly realize exactly how.

This game reminds me of Electric Box, an old Flash puzzle game that also revolved around electricity. The design was much more focused on what Tyler did in the very end where he was placing elements, and it had more of a Rube Goldberg feel with its puzzles rather than just using solely logic.

@jasonpatterson80913 ай бұрын
@@lastchance1036 Yeah, it took me a bit to do the third to last one. I got through the final one fairly quickly but I also felt like I didn't do it as planned. It occurred to me later that I don't think the people who built the puzzles really planned that hard in the first place. The final couple of bomb levels really made me think that - I don't know whether they were actually difficult or not, but they were trying to be difficult simply by being a mess. You can make anything harder by throwing more parts in, but that's not what I find fun. Clever puzzles, interesting uses of game mechanics, that sort of thing is fun to me. Just giving it more and more parts so that you have to the "OK, to get this to work I need to get that to work and to get that to work I need to get this other thing to work" version of puzzle solving feels lazy.

Additionally, the company can, at any time, without any heads up, legally change the value of Employee Points and there is nothing letting you stop this. Of course, you'll find people selling Employee cards which contain hundreds of thousands of points for a few hundred bucks just to realize the card defaults upon use.
