There is also one more element, which was especially visible against Wang Chiqin: Ma Long was very relaxed, while his opponents were tense, they were repeatedly overdoing with their shots, playing too strong, as Ma Long didn't "want to miss" and often missed themselves. it was not just the backhand serve he introduced but also the backhand slam: finishing ralleys with straight backhand shots. So Ma Long did during the game what Lin did after the serve: reverting to backhand. Although Ma Long did this more in the game against Wang in semis
