Anyone notices that when Jimmy mentions that D'arcy and James 'looked like they could play' he starts laughing, but Billy doesn't look amused. I think Billy really cared about those two, despite their personal arguments.

Billy did go on to say that they couldn't actually play and they had to make the album without them.

yeah I mean billy because friends with James even before the band started and he was the first one to met Darcy and all the time they spent together I feel he really misses them

“High fashion” “Looked like they could play”...dang, I’ve never seen Jimmy be snarky before. James Is a great player and I’m so glad they reconciled

Man, it has to be surreal beyond belief to have somebody just straight up say to you, "You almost died".

ya know i did notice that, and i laughed with jimmy but then looked at billy and stopped laughing. your right i think billy really did care about james and D'arcy.

@GWal84 Of course he has serious chops. When I first heard that kind of comment from Jimmy and then Billy, I was really surprised. There is enough live footage out there to show what kind of musician James is. His solo material is also very good.

dragging corpses around the earth and calling it smashing pumpkins does sound pretty cool. I'd go see it.

13:44 wow it's so nice to know in hindsight that James rejoined the band for many years now even after hearing this heartbreaking anecdote about their last show.

Really interesting stuff, thanks. I wonder if Billy and/or Jimmy still feel the same way about James and D'arcy now that the reunion dust has settled. You hear alot of stuff about how they were substandard musicians but I've always found this a little hard to reconcile in James' case - ok he's not up to Corgan's level but the guy's been in and out of A Perfect Circle. Nobody passes thru that band without having some serious chops.

Thanks for posting. And to all those who keep asking about D'Arcy and James, they should pay close attention to this segment. And if you saw them live back in the day you might have picked up on it, especially MCIS era and after. D'Arcy and James looked like they were punching time cards before walking on stage, they were not into it but liked paychecks.

What is the music here? Is this the phase of Teargarden Collidoscope thingy that i have only been able to discover a fraction of with Oceania album?
@ObscuredJellybelly12 жыл бұрын
I was kinda shocked by that interview yeah. Really didn't see that one coming. I think Oceania's success is getting to his head. He shouldn't go out pissing off people now that he's finally acknowledged as a musician and person again. I must say I love Oceania, by the way. Wonderful work.
