@@MatSen3sad but true. Cat's voice of Billy is quite annoying sometimes and ruins many good pieces

@@Alleycat___His voice doesn't ruin some songs because that's the way he wants his songs to sound. Doesn't mean everyone needs to like it though. His voice is peculiar I'll give you that. He uses it in a way that is really original though, especially on Siamese Dream.

@@MatSen3 well it's interesting what you say. To me Corgan has something like three different tones of voices. When he's calm, when he goes mad Wich is still cool to me and when he goes with that very high pitch of tone, Wich sound to me strident. If you listen to Patton or Cornell going high pitch, Wich both of them are indeed reaching those almost impossible notes, they sound really good, but idk why Billy's voice is annoying to me. SP music is complex and very rich, but, Corgan to me is their lowest point in terms of music output. Cannot say he's out of tune, but he lacks of music himself with something he can't control at the fullest. It is my humble opinion and I appreciate your comment. Ty

Wrap me up in always And drag me in with maybes, yeah Your innocence is treasure, your innocence is death Your innocence is all I have Breathing underwater And living under glass And if you spin your love around The secrets of your dreams You may find your love is gone And is not quite what it seemed To appear to disappear Beneath all your darkest fears I believe in never I believe in all the way But belief is not to notice, belief is just some faith And faith can't help you to escape And with this ring I wed thee true And with this ring I wed thee now And with this ring I play so dead But no one's asking for the truth, so let me tell you If you spin your love around The secrets of your dreams You may find your love is gone And is not quite what it seemed To appear to disappear Beneath all your darkest fears To the revelations of fresh faced youth No one will come to save you So speak your peace in the murmurs drawn But youth is wasted on the young Your strength is my weakness, your weakness my hate My love for you just can't explain Why we're forever frozen, forever beautiful Forever lost inside ourselves The night has come to hold us young The night has come to hold us young The night has come to hold us young The night has come to hold us young The night has come to hold us young The night has come to hold us young

I am not afraid to say that MICS is not the best SP's studio record in this 90's times: useless overproduction. Butch Vig's prod on Gish and SD are much raw and efficient. I saved MICS recording by listening billions of time to the Vic Theater Chicago 1995 recording.

I think this is an interesting take. I’ve always thought Siamese Dream was over produced. Not in a bad way it’s a beautiful album. But it’s obvious it’s full of layered guitar tracks and meticulous in its execution. I’ve heard that when MCIS was being recorded, they were wanting to capture the band in a way that would make them sound like they were playing live.

Nah, you've got it completely wrong. Vig was meticulous in the studio, demanding numerous takes of everything to get the perfect sound/sounds, then taping all the best pieces together etc. Massive overdubs. This is why James and D'arcy's playing doesn't appear at all (or barely) on either of the albums Vig produced, he was that demanding of perfect retakes for the overdubbing process. Flood was the opposite, wanting a raw, live and organic sound for MCIS. Most of the songs are live takes with overdubs and clean-up. This is most obvious on Billy's vocals, which are relatively untreated compared to Gish and SD. As a result, James and D'arcy play all their parts on the album. MCIS has more effects and weird instrumental bits, but it's a less produced record than SD/Gish. I mean, the reason Nirvana went with Albini for In Utero, instead of Vig, who'd produced Nevermind, was exactly because they wanted a raw sound and that ain't Vig.

@@johnniea4684 OK I agree with you but that's what you explain. Butch Vig's production on Gish and SD created those 2 masterpieces. Only few songs on MCIS really survived those over dubbed processes added by Flood: Zero, 1979, Tales of A Scortched Earth, Jelly Belly, Here is No Why. However thank you very much for your comment, this is a really interesting point of view ! Michel, France.

@@michvair Well, I like Vig's work on Gish and Siamese Dream, but in my opinion MCIS is better than SD and a LOT superior to Gish. I love those albums (particularly SD), but MCIS is an epic work that the Pumpkins never managed to get close to again. The scope and variety is immense. 28 songs and not one that I ever feel tempted to skip, that is some achievement. Throw in probably another 20 songs from The Aeroplane Flies High box set, some of which are as good as the tracks which actually made it onto the album! Billy was on fire creatively during this period, quite amazing really. Reading that above, you won't be surprised to hear that I love all those songs you listed, but the album is full of fantastic tracks like Ruby, Porcelina, Where Boys Fear to Tread, Muzzle, Thirty-three, Tonight, Fuck you (no, not you😄), By Starlight... I could go on! Anyone, good conversation, all opinions are good.
