Starting off with with Tonight reprise into the Original song is one of the coolest things I heard from the band. Smashing Pumpkins can not only be amazing to new and old fans alike but can also freshen up the music in the most perfect ways to suprise the fans. Legendary status and nothing less.

Like 140€ last time I checked, thats bit too steep for me. Tho maybe you can get them cheaper used, and it also depens where you live

There's so much emotion in that song, it's quite moving too. (Especially when they play it live) I remember seeing them in London many years ago and it was fucking chaotic in that mosh pit. You really don't see bands like this anymore. I feel old saying it but it's fucking true.

I wonder how the new members feel about performing these old songs that they probably grew up listening to and now being under the band name that made that music.

Time is never time at all You can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth And our lives are forever changed We will never be the same The more you change the less you feel Believe, believe in me, believe That life can change, that you're not stuck in vain We're not the same, we're different tonight Tonight, so bright Tonight And you know you're never sure But you're sure you could be right If you held yourself up to the light And the embers never fade in your city by the lake The place where you were born Believe, believe in me, believe In the resolute urgency of now And if you believe there's not a chance tonight Tonight, so bright tonight We'll crucify the insincere tonight We'll make things right, we'll feel it all tonight We'll find a way to offer up the night tonight The indescribable moments of your life tonight The impossible is possible tonight Believe in me as I believe in you, tonight

This is without a doubt the best version of Tonight, tonight, because Jeff uses his Gibson SG and an Ebow for effects. I don't know why he doesn't do that anymore. He can really make the guitar sing when he does. Iha was great, but Jeff's definitly got skills too! Make it sing, Jeff! Make it siiiing! Love it!
@lisaknell60189 жыл бұрын
I love this too, my fave guitarist Stuart Adamson played a Gibson SG and quite frequently used an ebow... Way back in the 80s :)

People always say that it's not the Smashing Pumpkins any more, as it's just Billy, but if you read accounts from the Siamese Dream/ Mellon Collie period, Billy did most of the recording, writing, producing and playing anyway. So, although Iha, Wretzky and Chamberlin were amazing performers, Billy was the Pumpkins, therefore, as the band he has now are amazing, they still are the great Pumpkins.

The sad thing is that sustainer/ebow wouldn't be so bad if it was just used up where the first chorus ends and it kicks in, just those bits. But overkill much? when they bring it in it sounds horrible.
