How the hell does anyone come up with a song like this? Even the lyrics like “I’ll guess we’ll just have to adjust” and”You better look out below” are so perfectly placed. A true modern work of art. No wonder Bowie loved them.

“How the hell does anyone come up with this song” Feel the same with any great song. It blows my mind that on a Tuesday some day years ago this song didn’t exist, and then a bunch of humans, probably in a rehearsal room somewhere, banged it out, and by Wednesday the world had been given this amazing piece of art as a present. Truly amazing!

The 2007 'version', that collection of musicians, was the best at performing everything they had written to that point, live. They haven't come anywhere near it since. Apart from the energy of the permanent band members there was total, unwavering commitment from Marika, Colin and Kelly, all musicians at the top of their game. Polyphonic Spree with real music.

@@petermoxham2625 One of the two worst mistakes the Eavis' ever made, putting them on the Other Stage. They had to make up for it seven years later but by then AC weren't the same band. (The other mistake is never inviting Nightwish at all, the world's #1 live band).
@petermoxham2625 Жыл бұрын
@@davidbentley4032 The worst mistake was not waiting for Prince to sign the contract and putting on Beyonce instead, luckily I went to the Hop Farm and saw one of Prince's best UK performances. With regard to AF, I was at that Glastonbury and I thought the PA sound was crap the whole festival, so it is very difficult for me to judge their performance on that day, however I remember being disappointed at the time. Since then I have seen AF several times, some very good, some not so good. Last year at the O2 they were dreadful but a few years back at Wembley they were brilliant.

Sometimes the world isn’t fair. I look at a band like Kings of Leon, who are very basic with their instruments, get tons of success, and then a band like Arcade Fire, who are probably the most talented musicians of any band out there, probably get half the success of KOL. It doesn’t stack up sometimes. Btw, KOL do deserve their success because they wrote some great songs, and Caleb has a great voice. Just feel like Arcade Fire should have had more.
