Don't give Thom all the credit. He may be a front man but the truth is Colin and Johnny are heavily responsible for the vibes brought to all the Radiohead albums. Skinner and Johnny again are the heavy focuses on these first two Smile albums. Thoms ideas are amazing but he's never been the main contributing creativity factor to these bands.

"I Quit" by The Smile is a contemplative and introspective song that explores the idea of letting go and starting anew. The lyrics evoke a sense of resignation and exhaustion, with the protagonist declaring their decision to quit and leave behind a part of themselves. The song portrays the end of a journey, both physically and emotionally, and the desire for a new path free from the chaos and madness experienced before. Song Meaning The emotional journey depicted in "I Quit" takes the listener on a rollercoaster of feelings. The opening lines convey a sense of frustration and mental exhaustion, with the protagonist feeling overwhelmed and wanting to give up. As the song progresses, there is a glimmer of hope as they reach their final stop and find closure. The lyrics about "conscience" and "brotherhood" suggest a longing for connection and understanding, while the mention of "wild ghosts" and "wild feelings" signifies the tumultuous emotions they are leaving behind. Ultimately, the song ends with a feeling of determination and anticipation for what lies ahead, as the protagonist embarks on a new path out of the madness. Quotes 1. "I quit, my head is lit" - These opening lines set the tone for the song, expressing the protagonist's decision to give up and the intense mental strain they are experiencing. It reflects a sense of exhaustion and the need for a break. 2. "This is my stop, this is the end of the trip" - This quote signifies the end of a journey, both physically and metaphorically. It represents a moment of closure and the opportunity to move on from past experiences. 3. "A new path, out of the madness" - This lyric encapsulates the central theme of the song. It symbolizes the protagonist's desire to start fresh and find a different, more peaceful direction in life. 4. "To wherever it goes, to wherever it lies" - These lines convey a sense of uncertainty but also openness to whatever the future may hold. It reflects the willingness to embrace the unknown and explore new possibilities.

The most beautiful thing about The Smile is that it doesn’t necesarilly mean the end of Radiohead, it means something literally new and as good!!! The wait between albums used to feel kinda sad and empty for us just cured by the other solo projects when they happened if we had the luck, now this space and time feels filled, with 2 releases of AMAZING music in less than 2 years I’m more than thankful, and even excited to see what could happen in the future of both bands if Radiohead gets Tom Skinner as a third drummer after they release 3-4 smile albums, that would be INSANE
