i rode this at scarefest at night and OH BOY! it was amazing. I love not fully being able to see whats going on or whats about to happen, even if i do know the layout pretty well. It sorta gives it a surprise element. The vertical lift is also amazing. Even if my legs are crushed by the but before. This is an amazing ride so please, if you are visiting Alton Towers, try this ride at least once, even if you hate rollercoasters. and please don't miss out on it because the crash. That was years ago and they've improved saftey standards since then. I dont know why i sat and typed this out but ok

Rode this for the first (and so far only) time at last years scarefest- was about 8pm and pitch black like this. Fits so well with the theme of the ride and honestly can't imagine it through the day, night defo better!

Went on Smiler 3 times after studying it on youtube (50 plus times). Every ride my head was OK but had the "party in the stomach" feeling for at least 45 minutes after. Can't wait to go back! Plus the vertical lift a total "laid back in bed experience"! Last ride of the day just before 8pm, with the dew settling and the ride seemed to be pushing plus 55pmh. "Love the bit by 2nd lift as other train races above".

hi thank you for you comment. the way i go told to deal with new rides is ride it once and if you dont like it you will never have to go on it again and i say the same to my kids and they love the rides just a bit scared at the beginning but happy at the end of the ride were they enjoyed it
